Notice for prev. blog readers: I realize that some people think the blog is to represent minecraft as a nonrealistic game. My aim was not to do that. I realize my errors of portraying the text to you in a way to make you dislike the post. I don't think it was interesting either.

Well, as a server owner, I feel like nobody needs staff. They'll just abuse, abuse, abuse. But, there are some special people, that god, with his power, brought to you. That special one in a million person, will not ask at all. They will work hard to earn your trust and gain a rank without asking. But what happens when you give them the staff rank that they try to earn without you knowing? Who knows? Well this blog focuses on two things. It's probably going to be long. Idk, I'm just improving and typing this as we go along. But anyways, there are two parts to this blog. Asking for a staff rank, and abusing the powers of a staff rank.

Part One - Asking for Staff
So, we all love to help out new servers. Maybe even take advantage of one. Maybe want to get staff on one. Maybe even wreck it to death. But, that's not all its about. There is one main highlight you are focused on. Getting the trust. The trust is the most important part of becoming a staff on the server. Some people use staff for a good thing. Some people really want the power, but after that, they get more and more bored, until they just hate the server so much, they would like to make it their own.

When a person joins a new server, and you own the server, but, to your surprise, they ask for staff the second they join, you probably should ban them. They are not going to help the server in any way possible. If another person joins, but wants to earn the staff rank, don't trust them yet. Double-crossing is another factor in trust. They may just cheat you out. This is a reason you don't do: /op YouCanTrustMeBecauseIDoubleCrossYou. So, let them survive a bit, and help a bit. Promote them to Moderator if they are a little trustworthy, but do not do it if they really don't help at all. Some naïvé minecrafters may join your server, when they think they can get staff, but they actually wont.

My experience spans over 2 years of server owning. One, when I thought I could let my friend join by telling him 192.168.1.5:25565 as the server IP. What a noob I was! But anyways, I wasn't as experienced at the time. So, whenever I applied for servers, I just put: Pick me, because I, rather than those other nutjobs, will actually do something cool, rather than farting around. Well, what a big help that was. The second I gave the app, they said, you actually serious about getting staff -_-? And really, that was it. Good server owners are looking for a detailed application, not one like that! So, work hard, play hard (which really applies to anything but slacking off) and you will get a better chance of server staff.

Part Two - Abusing Powers. Why?
Have you ever felt so powerful? Have you ever felt you could destroy a server in one click of a button? Have you loathed how terrible the owner was, and just wanted to ban him? Well, that was a pretty useful introduction, and here's another one. Now, every single server you've probably been on has some rule "No asking for staff.". That rule is never followed, unless you ban every single treasonous player. Why do we abuse powers? One possibility is that boredom got the best of us, so we take these powers for granted, and use them until we found out how horrid we had become. Some people are like, "Why did he ban me?" Well, he probably had a pretty good reason to, seeing as how you've griefed every players house, given TNT to every single griefer, OP-ped every single player. Pretty much, you're your own worst enemy. The first thing I say to that, this is probably shorter than you think it is. Your time on the server is no longer than the time it takes you to get staff. After that, it's all downhill for you and them. If you want to help a server, do it the right way. That is pretty much all I have to say for this, because I'm especially hungry.

Ways to be trusted:
Stay on the server for a long time
Use good words, don't seem like an idiot (Basically, be educated)
Don't use slang, and be immature
Don't argue with another player over something useless
Don't ask for staff
Feel like you're accepted
Skype with the owner
Keep in touch with the owner(s)
Invite new players to experience the server
Make YouTube videos for the server
Eat jalapeños
Don't fart around
Try not to cuss
Don't rape the wall

And that's all I have to say! Hope you enjoyed this boring, long, excruciatingly detailed, intricate, half-assed post!
