[first blog post/submission to Planet Minecraft]
Today, I went through all of my single player worlds dating back to version 1.2. I ended up deleting most of them, so I decided to create a new one titled "Experimental".
I spawned in a relatively nice area, with a pretty much flat area at a ledge that I decided to start building a house.
Later, I got back on this world and turned fog off. All around me, I found the coolest geography! I mean, you could easily use the seed "Glacier" and get some cool geography but that's pretty well-known. I'm astonished at this one, since it's random, AND the cool features are so close to the spawn.
Here's a couple of screenshots:
That ledge is where I spawned, and that's where I'm starting to build the house.
Here's a little walk-through area. There's a small waterfall in there.
That walk-through area leads to here! At first, from behind the hill, I thought it was just a missing chunk, but it's an actual formation.
And finally, here's a view from the house site. Expansive field, it goes for a while and lies in the middle of two big hills. The formation in the previous picture is to the left of this.
I'm planning on building a whole city from this, hopefully done the "fair" way. I'll definitely include a couple of temples; there's a couple of more landmarks that I didn't reveal for sake of space. Eventually I'll get a project uploaded.
