I now present an issue to you... Not an issue with PMC per se, an issue with the whole world. An issue with you. An issue with me.
ORIGINALITY.
Nothing's ever original. I mean, you can be creative, but in the end, you're basing what you do off of someone else, or the works of someone else. If you think about it, your personality has been completely dictated by the people you spend your time with. The way you think, the way you have fun, the way you work, everything. It's all a combination of examples set before you. This isn't a bad thing, it's the way the human mind was always meant to work. We as humans take what we see in the world, and replicate it with our own actions. Have you ever had a childhood hero? Someone you looked up to? You want to become like them, to become who they are in your own way. This is the way people work, and this is the way the greatest of people become who they are.
But...
What if we take it a step further?
What if we become something MORE than what we see around us?
Here on Planet Minecraft, everyone's trying to fit in, just like anywhere else in the world. The first thing you do to fit in is to be like everyone else. You can't help it, it's human nature. But take it further than just replicating what other people do that you deem "cool". Take your twist on other ideas, take them further than anyone has ever gone before. Don't just follow the crowd, run ahead. And when you've run ahead of the crowd... Sometimes you can turn around and go right against the crowd. You can become original. You've taken what you see, but you've made something original out of that. You've gone beyond... And you've become you.
Think of that while you use this site. Before you post a project, a texture pack, a forum post... Sure, you're taking your ideas from somewhere, but are you taking them to the sky? Are you making them BEYOND what they could be?
Take what you know and fly with it. Become something new. Become original.
