Being a good admin (administrator) on a Minecraft server is very difficult for some people. In this tutorial, I will be covering the subject from top to bottom, based on my personal experiences as an admin.
1. Do Not Abuse Your Power
When you first get admin, it doesn’t mean you’re better than anyone on the server. Players are the ones who keep the server running. Keep that in mind while talking to the players. Another thing that I’ve observed is that a lot of people, as soon as their application is accepted, or they are promoted to admin, spawn items in survival servers, use god mode in pvp, etc. This is not a very good thing to do, as you are most likely going to win in mini-games, pvp, and more. This is not fair to the people you are playing against.
2. Help the Server
If your fellow staff members need help making a new map, deciding punishments for griefers, or anything of the sorts, do not make up that you have to leave and you can’t help them. Unless you really do have to leave, help them out.
3. Give Reasonable Punishments
For example, if someone steals something from someone when there is a rule against stealing, do not ban them. Maybe a temporary ban, kicking them, or jailing them, would suit the situation better.
I hope you learnt something from this tutorial, and go be the best admin you can be!
