Craftbukkit and Spigot Removed for Download
A big legal issue errupted a few days ago and resulted in craftbukkit and child programs being removed for download. For more details please read this post:

Bukkit Crumbles as Developers and Supporters Leave
As of 6th of September the developers behind Bukkit started to leave the project. Lots and lots of them left. This leaves the Bukkit project in a massive hole. The team leaving symbolises years worth of knowledge being lost and it will take Mojang a lot of time and money to rebuild an equal team.

What Does This Mean?
This loss will surely cripple Bukkit and has already seen a large number of plugin developers following the Bukkit team. Some pretty major developers have left and this means that some of your favourite plugins will NEVER be updated.
