This is a question that has bothered me for a while. Here I'm going to go over the pros and cons of each.
DOGS:
PROS:
1: Mans best friend. Um... Like... Yeah!
2: My favorite animal is a wolf.
3: I own a dog
4: They're loyal.
5: They can easily be trained
CONS:
1:They slobber
2: They pee. A LOT
3: Barking hurts my ears
4: they (or at lest mine) hate sleeping with me. That's like 30% of having a dog!
CATS:
PROS:
1: They're super smart
2: I own 2 cats.
3: They don't have to go out every hour. They can go in they're litter box
4: They love sleeping with you
5: They can go anywhere and not get lost
CONS:
1: They sleep a LOT
2: Hissing
3: Claws
4: They think they're way better than you. Which with me, is true
It's still a debate. what do you think?

Speaking of which, I can testify that not all dogs hate sleeping with people - I think I could violently throw mine at the wall and completely break his heart, and still find him in my bed in the morning. I wouldn't test that concept, of course, but you get the point - mine always loves to sleep with me ;p
Usally people won't care if u have a dog or cat cause it's not helping them with the question.
For the peeing the cats pee too I know that dogs pee around places they shouldn't but cats do too.
Some people might not care that your favorite animal is a wolf But I do :D
But overall good job!
In my opinion, dogs are better. But honestly, I love cats too, they just come in close second.
Another pro to dogs would be that they can easily be trained to do anything they are capable of. Dogs have rescued people from burning buildings, saved people from oceans, and have even saved people from their mental states. I personally want to train my own puppy for K9 SAR.
It would be hard to get a cat to do something like this because, although they may love their owners, they don't exactly seem fascinated by us as much as dogs do. They often ignore when we're trying to get them to do something, and they're very independent. Although, a pro for a cat would be that they can pretty much go anywhere and know how to get back. Where as, a new puppy who gets lost, may not be able to find their way back.
