The minecart train slowed down quite considerably . It was night-time now ; sunset was a distant memory, and everything around me had been plunged into darkness hours ago. I checked my sundial. It was almost midnight. It was almost midnight, but we were here - our new life. I grabbed my suitcase and stood up before looking at my father. Bless his soul . He is a friendly person, made of blocks like the rest of us, with dirty blonde hair and, like myself, has two different coloured eyes : one deep azure, one pale green. The same eye colours as me, actually. He was, and still is, a kind soul, and when Mum left his heart was shattered. He lost a part of himself. He was broken for a little while. He has recovered from that. He's moved on.
Figuratively and literally.
"Ready to go?" he enquired, his voice tired - he had a good right to be, it was midnight. I nodded - we were here. We hopped of the minecart train and walked through the birchwood and brick station. We left the station when I spotted the sign. It said ' Kira North' . It was very far away from Ryni, it was at the opposite side of the city. It was one of the lower income areas, which is a good thing I guess. I didn't care about the state of our new home, just how much it cost - we were broke after all.
It was sunrise when we reached the new place. It was a complex of flats, 15 blocks tall, and it was made of stone bricks and dark oak planks. We climbed the flight of stairs. "The moving donkey with our chest of stuff is arriving tomorrow." stated Dad, his mouth showing a slight smile.
We arrived at our flat. He took the key out and opened the door.
Here we were...
Our new life had begun.
