One of the most popular mobile games of the decade (actually, since iPhones were introduced only a couple of years ago, saying that might be a bit redundant - meh, whatever) Clash Royale is an awesome and super addictive strategy game that involves dueling players from all across the globe and destroying peoples' towers with crazy troops like giant skeletons, inferno dragons, lava hounds and the notorious P.E.K.K.A., an enormous armored abomination that hits like a truck, but has an unquenchable hunger for pancakes and gets easily distracted by butterflies. For those of you who are reading this article right now, if you too adore this game, high five! If you haven't played this game before, I seriously suggest you give it a shot - believe me, you'll come to love this game. If you've played Clash Royale before and think this game isn't worth playing, I hope a stray baby dragon mistakes your house for a crown tower and decides to burn it down.
Before you download the game and give busting crown towers a shot, I must give you a bit of advice: first, the game may seem easy at the beginning, but one cannot simply deploy troops and cards without knowing what they're actually doing and actually win a match; this game may seem simple, but it actually brings strategy games to a whole new level - thus, you must employ a good strategy to be successful at this game. Second, unlike what you're thinking, Clash Royale isn't one of those games where the person with the most powerful cards or the most upgrades dominates the match; in fact, a battle deck consisting of simple but well-organised troops can easily take out one consisting of legendary cards but lacking an actual strategy.
Here are some of my favorite strategies and troop combinations to employ in the game:
1) Prince + Baby Dragon + Zap/ Arrows
A slightly weird play, the main logic behind this is to deploy the prince behind the king's tower (to provide time for deploying supporting troops), then placing above him a baby dragon, which can help take out ranged troops like spear goblins. When the two speed off into enemy territory, prepare your zap card to take care of any pesky skeletons! However, slightly stronger troops like barbarians or valkyeries might overwhelm the prince. No fear, reader; this strategy is only for handling combat in lower arenas. Once you reach arena 3, the following combination is going to make your enemy's jaw drop:
2) Giant Skeleton + Baby Dragon + Bomber (And Goblin Barrel later on)
Ah, this is one heck of an unstoppable combination! Deploy the giant skeleton behind the king's tower, then accompany it with a baby dragon. Once your opponent's tower targets the skeleton, no problem! Chuck over a goblin barrel to the opponent tower, and very soon it'll be nothing but smoldering ruins. Ensure that the baby dragon and the bomber are following the skeleton and not leading it, to ensure that the enemy tower will not target your support rather than the skeleton, which has significantly more health. That's a lot of damage already, but let's not forget, the giant skeleton drops a heck of a bomb upon demise that will swallow up the enemy tower in flames.
3) Hog Rider + Valkyerie + Fire Spirits (And Goblin Barrel too!)
As a fact, there is simply nothing in the game that is speedier than the might hog rider - able to jump across the river and targeting buildings only, a hog rider can get to an opponent tower and start landing blows so fast you won't even be able to react fast enough to deploy defenses! Place a valkyerie in front of the hog rider, and he will push the mighty anti-swarm axe-wielder over to the enemy tower along. Brr, that's a lot of damage! Accompany them with fire spirits in case of minions. Once the hog rider and the valkyerie are safely dealing damage, deploy a goblin barrel! The more the merrier, right?
Leave a diamond if you liked this post! I really appreciate it :D However, if you decide not to leave a diamond, I hope you get attacked by skeletons on your way home from school >:C
