We all know the phrase, right? Especially from when either your mom or your dad were scolding you. (We all make mistakes, don't try to be an angel ;n;)Common Decency,is basically doing what is expected of a normal human being. Such as being kind, respectful, caring, and being able to trust others. It can affect your choices, and what you do.
decency
pl-cies
1.(Sociology) conformity to the prevailing standards of propriety, morality, modesty, etc.
2.the quality of being decent
Common decency isn't too much of a big deal on PMC than it is on Minecraft, but I just included it.
Now, you *may* be asking yourself, "Hey! What does this have to do with Minecraft or even PMC users?!"
Everything
It really does, it has a huge impact on a lot of things. For example, you may be uploading a new project up to PMC, and it violates the submission rules. You have 3 options.
A) Rage at the moderator and threaten them (Please don't do that it makes their job harder with hate-mail)
B) Have the Common Decencyto admit you messed up, you're sorry, and continue on with your experience on PMC.
C) Continue on as if nothing happened.
Or, maybe you're playing on a new server you found on the website. You've been playing for quite a few days now, and your friend was griefed, but you really don't care. You could have the common decency to report the grief. I could ramble on for a long time about it. On the positive side, Common Decency can help you gain friends and trust. To know that they'll do the right thing, instead of the wrong, and they'll be honest with you and you will back.
That brings me to my next topic, about good decisions against the bad.
Common decency has a large amount of impact on your life, and others. Kindness and decency is two of the few things the world *and Minecraft* needs. In Minecraft Common Decency is especially useful, it has impacts on whether trust, kindness, and friendship is established between fellow members, or whether not that is completely ignored. It's up to you in the long run, though. So I'll leave everyone with this.
"Each person has inside a basic decency and goodness. If he listens to it and acts on it, he is giving a great deal of what it is the world needs most. It is not complicated but it takes courage. It takes courage for a person to listen to his own goodness and act on it." -Pablo Casals
