I placed the last cog carefully into the control box, slotting it in-between a large copper cog and a delicate silver wire. It touched the wire and began to spin. Below it, the copper cog began to spin as well, the magnetism from the small cog turning it faster and faster.
A humming sound started and my contraption started to hover. My companion rises to level with my head and an orange glow fills its eyes. The humming evolves into a bee-like buzzing. The copper and scrap metal cog wings start to flap and whirr. This is my first ever working machine! At least... I hope it works.
I've decided to call it beemo.I didn't have enough metal (or money for metal) to completely finish the outer body, so there are holes in it showing through to the cogs and wires being blown around by the steam given off by the fires in the eyes. It's not a piece of art, but I love it.
I put my hand under the machine to steady it and push a big red button. It began to bob up and down. Up and down. Up and down. I leave it hovering and walk backwards towards the door. My new companion followed me as I walked around the room. IT WORKS!
You and I are going to have so many adventures Beemo.
