This story takes place several years before the Yogcast's Shadow of Israphel. There are many referances to it however you should get along fine if you have not seen it. Anyways, enjoy!

Chapter I: The Cube World

It was all a normal day when James woke up. He got out of bed in his small apartment in London. Although it was a mess and he barely had space to move around in, he liked it because it was his. He got dressed and went to have breakfast. Everything was great until he looked at his clock. Then he remembered he was late for work.
He bolted out the door and ran to the bus stop. A sign was posted on the bus route map that the bus would be closed due to a strike until further notice. He called a taxi instead. The taxi pulled up at the building five minutes late. He walked up the steps to his building and took the lift to the fourth floor. He got to his office and sat down to work. He started building the 3D model of an idea for a new enemy for the new Mario game. James worked for Nintendo you see. He worked till about five oo clock and then headed home to relax. When he arrived at his apartment he sat down at his computer to play Minecraft. He played for several hours and eventually fell asleep on his desk.
When he woke up he couldno t figure out where he was but then he looked around him. He was in a forest made of blocks. He promptly puked and passed out.

Chapter II: Steveo s Cabin

When he came to, he was lying in a bed and a cube headed man was bending over him. o Uhhh, I dono t feel good.o James groaned.
The man studied him. James realized it had turned night time. He also noticed that he himself was made up of cubes. o Who are you?o asked James.
o Call me Steve.o Steve replied.
o No. No. This cannot be happening.o
o The question is, who are you?o Steve asked, confused.
o Io m James. Io m a worker for Nintendo in London,o replied James.
This obviously confused Steve even more. o That doesno t matter now. Where am I?o
o In my cabin, in the woods, about fifty miles north of Minecraftia City. Would you like some milk?o So they sat there and they drank milk until they got tired and went to bed.
They spent the next several days mining, fishing and doing things you would expect to in Minecraft. Because James played the game so much he actually taught Steve some things. That was until the creepers showed up.

Chapter III: The Creepers

That night Steve and James were lying asleep in the house when they woke to hear an unearthly churning noise. They crawled out of their beds and peeked outside. Then several moss covered scaly creatures stepped out of the darkness along with many other nasty creatures. The moss covered things walked slowly toward them. James and Steve backed into the house and closed the door.
In the morning Steve suggested that they head to a small village just south of them and spend the night at an inn in the village.
They took as much as they could carry to the village. When they arrived it was strangely silent. When they came to the inn, Steve knocked on the door. There was no reply. He pushed the door open slowly and stepped in. The inn keeper was shivering and hiding behind the desk. o Hello?o Steve called.
o What happened?o James asked.
o Io m not sure. They were everywhere! They took my son!o she exclaimed.
o We will find him for you.o said Steve.
o We will?o asked James.
o We will.o Steve replied.
Chapter IV: The Village

In the morning the two friends walked to the market to gather information. When they got there however, the place was completely empty. Other than a few eyes peeking from behind closed shutters, they saw nobody. So they decided to head back to the inn and ask more about where the innkeepero s son went.
An hour later Steve and James walked out of the inn a little more confident. The boy had disappeared after school when the creeper raid had come in. They also managed to find out that the creepers didno t come into any houses that had a pet cat. o How would one find a creepero s nest?o asked James.
o I have no clue,o replied Steve.
o Maybe we should check the old mine on the west side of the village,o James suggested.
On the way to the mine, they saw nobody. It was as if the town had been frozen in time.

Chapter V: The Mine

After a long walk to the mine they saw the entrance to the mine that had been long abandoned. They entered the mine. It was dark and dusky. The walls were covered with cobwebs and strange creaking sounds echoed through the tunnels. After what seemed to be hours they reached an underground crevice. A deep sound of laughter echoed through it. They saw three figures standing in the cavern. One of them seemed to be tied up and wasno t more than a boy. The innkeepero s son!
The two other figures were very strange looking. One was pale faced and had the face of creeper. And the other looked sort of like Steve but had glowing white eyes. All three were standing in front of some sort of black ring large enough for a whole person to fit through. o Is it ready?o asked a deep voice from somewhere in the shadows.
o Yes,o replied the two figures immediately.
o Good,o the voice chuckled.
The two figures knelt before the ring. They started chanting words of some ancient and evil language. Then a churning purple substance appeared in the middle of the ring. Then many hideous creatures crawled, walked or flew out of the churning door. Evil laughter filled the cavern. Steve and James ran back down the way they came to the entrance.
o We are going to need help if weo re going to defeat those things!o said Steve.
Chapter VI: The Road to Minecraftia City

Sometime later, Steve and James were on the winding paths that lead to the capital city of Minecraftia. Finally the towering walls and pillars of Minecraftia City appeared on the horizon. The guards stood watch in front of the massive gate that lead to the magnificent city.
When they had settled down at the inn they had found, they decided to talk to the king the next day about the invasion of the villages on the outskirts of the kingdom. They headed down to the little tavern across the street.
After a long supper of potatoes and beef, they headed back to the little inn.
The next day they headed for the palace. It was the center towering peak of the entire city. Its white marble pillars and arches gleamed in the sun. The travelers breathed in the fresh air. Everything seemed so perfect that it was sad that they had to bring bad news.

Chapter VII: The Throne Room

Steve and James walked in awe up the marble steps of the throne room. When they walked through the doors to the throne room they looked in wonder at the detail that had been put into the hall. The throne appeared as if it were miles away!
They walked slowly to the kingo s throne. After what seemed to be hours, they knelt at the kingo s feet. Then they told him of the grave news from the village.
Several days later, they stood in the main square of the city with some of the best fighters in Minecraftia. Steve and James were introduced to Jordan the warrior, Krotos the ranger and Xander the wizard who taught many mages including his cousin Fumblemore.
The group stood outside the abandoned mine where Steve and James had first seen the swirling door and the two strange men. They ventured into the mine. They reached the cavern. Nobody was in sight except for a small boy hanging in a cage high above the cavern floor. As they climbed down the cliff to the floor, a low voice chuckled to itself from the dark as if it were amused by their attempt to stop whoever or whatever it was that was cackling.

Chapter VIII: The Cavern

James ran over to the spot where the boy was hanging over the crevice. Krotos rapidly shot arrows with such accuracy and speed that his hands were a blur of movement. Xander hurled fireballs and arcs of lightning from his staff. Steve ran at the man with glowing eyes with his pickaxe. The man then hit Steve in the stomach and sent him flying to the other side of the cavern. Meanwhile, James was having trouble opening the cage. He was afraid that if they tried to blast it open with a fireball, the prisoner would be disintegrated. Jordan ran up with a dagger with a jagged saw blade. He started sawing at the metal bars.
Xander was over by Steve, giving him a potion of some kind. The pale, creeper faced man in a silk suit was having an archery battle with Krotos. The sound of thunder echoed through the caves as a massive crack appeared in the floor, opening up to a seemingly endless fall. The adventurers were on one side with the cage, and the strange enemies were on the other. Jordan finished sawing through and everybody (including the innkeepero s son) ran back the way they came.

Chapter IX: The Battle at Whitehill

They returned to the village as heroes. As they walked slowly through the town, they saw heads peeking out of windows as they passed. When they approached the inn, the innkeeper rushed out to meet her son again. The war was not at all over but they had won the first battle.
Over the course of several months, a dark fortress was being built in the far edges of the kingdom. When the king found out, he assembled a mighty army of warriors that the original team of adventurers would lead.
On the fields of Whitehill, the army of the king and the army of the darkness were in their separate camps on either side of the battlefield. In the main tent of both armies, the leaders planned for the battle that was to come in the morning. When the soldiers awoke, the battle began. Fiery flying things flew over the kingdomo s army and shot flaming cannonballs from their mouths. The creepers were being launched over from catapults. Xandero s wizard groups were using their staffs and wands as water hoses to try and put out the blazing monsters. Then Krotoso archers fired all at once and a rain of arrows fell on the enemy. The undead army and the kingo s army met and the sound of swords clanged across the battlefield. The previously smooth terrain was now covered in craters of creepers and cannonballs alike. The fight continued all through the night and early in the morning. Finally the undead army raised the white flag of surrender.

Chapter X: Back at the City

The heroes returned to the palace and were greeted with cheers of the entire city! Fireworks exploded over the city and people danced all through the streets. The heroes were awarded many awards and were each given a lot of gold.
Steve and James went back to the little cabin and stayed there for several years. Then one day, when James was chopping wood alone, a man with a strange hat appeared next to him. He knew of this man because it was Notch. Notch led him to a swirling portal. It was like the churning portal they saw in the cavern years ago. However it was green and blue and much more friendly looking. It was the portal to earth.
When he stepped through it, he was in his small apartment in London. Although it had seemed to be only a dream he knew in his heart that it was as real as you or me. He never forgot that adventure that heo d had in that world made out of blocks. Although James never entered the realm of Minecraftia again, his son and his grandson had adventures of their own.
