Hey there everyone, Cooper here!
So, for all of you who don't know me, you probably don't know that I love to write, and I am currently in the process of writing my own novel. However, I have driven myself headlong into a little something called "Writers Block". However, I have often found that when I get stuck on one story, it helps to clear my thoughts by writing another story to get the creative juices flowing again. That's basically what I'm doing here.
Normally, I don't make my writing public, but in this case, I came up with a little idea in which to release a series of stories, updated weekly, and told from different points of view each week.
As the title may reveal, it does take place during a zombie apocalypse. Overdone? Maybe. But again, this is more for the sake of getting my creativity going again, and possibly provides some entertainment for all you readers out there. So anyway, let's get started. This is an intro, after all.
It all started in India, although scientists still areno t sure of the direct cause. Still, the first outbreaks were traced back to several small towns around the city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Reports came in late September, 2012, that residents of Keru had seen a group of men wandering towards town from the nearby desert. Some of the locals decided to investigate, thinking the wanderers were in need of assistance. They came back to town claiming that the travelers were not men, but horrors who only once were men. They spoke no language, only snarled and moaned, and attempted to bite and claw their intended rescuers. Little was made of the stories, and the news was lost among o largero world issues.
Shock rippled throughout the world as images of what seemed a post-apocalyptic version of Keru were displayed, only a few weeks later, on Television and Internet. The town was in shambles, some homes on fire, and mobs of people clogging the roadways in attempted escape. Survivors all said that the cause was that of those walking creatures seen earlier in September, who came into town and began assaulting the residents. Some were merely bitten, others were brutally disfigured. An attempt was made to kill the creatures, but, as one local officer reported;
o We repeatedly fired upon [The Creatures], but they took no notice of the wounds we inflicted. They cannot be stopped.o
Days, weeks, months passed. The spread of the creatures, known to the public as o Zombieso , seemed truly unstoppable. The loss of the majority of Indiao s population at the end of November led to nearly 1,000,000,000 infected peoples. A mass exodus led to many of those infected finding their way into cities across the globe, where the disease was spread further and further every day. By December 21, 2012, the virus had reached a state of o Worldwide Pandemico .
It is now January of 2013. The end of the world has come for billions. Only a few places on Earth remain untouched by the walking dead. Many have resorted to living on the run, while others have created o Safe Havenso from the infection, turning suburbs into the equivalent of fortified towns during the Middle Ages, some going so far as to actually create walled-in sections and modern-day castles. One such Safe Haven, called Abrahamo s Refuge, is located in the outskirts of Albuquerque, New Mexico, one of the least-infected areas on the planet. Many now traverse the deserts from as far as California to find shelter here.
This is the story of a few of these travelers. They do not know what awaits them on the journey, nor do they know for sure if the refuge they seek is truly safe, or teeming with the undead. All they know is that hope is what carries them now. Friendships are forged, hardships endured, and these survivors fight to the end. Join them on their struggle, while the Dead are on the rise.

Anyways, if you really have a good story on your mind, just take a second to write down an idea as it comes to you, and as more come, create a list. That list, in and of itself, can become a story already. The "Skeleton", if you will. From then on, start adding the "Muscles, Organs and Flesh", again little by little, until you have a real, living story. Sooner or later you'll be able to sit down and concentrate more on what you want.
You've good quality, so far, even if such a subject has been used before.
