Introduction
So many people disapprove of 'Anime' and call those who watch it, 'Weebs' or 'Weeaboos'. And why? It's all part of the Japanese Culture. Go ahead, call me a 'weeb' but I'll just shrug it off. I'm proud to watch anime and this blog is all about why. Any other Anime watchers out there, stand tall ^-^ !
WARNING: IF YOU DON'T LIKE ANIME, DO NOT READ!
In fact, Anime watchers tend to be highly satisfied in their lives and here's why:
1. They Like Vivid Colours -
Many anime shows have lots of colours and distinctive art styles. Being exposed to these colours regularly can positively impact your mood, or may even help you pay attention to the more vibrant things in your daily life. True, not all anime have bright colours because some anime are meant to be dark and depressing but regardless, the colour scheme will always suck you into whatever world the artist is trying to create.
2. They Learn Things Often -
While there are Chinese and Korean anime, a typical anime is Japanese. Anime fans come from all corners of the globe so for anyone watching who isn't Japanese, anime can be rather educational. You learn a little bit about Japanese culture regardless of what anime you're watching. And if you watch the subbed version of anime you can actually learn some Japanese phrases and words.
3. They Exercise Their Imaginations -
You have to have an imagination to watch anime anyway as most shows feature really crazy concepts and alternate universes which you just cannot view realistically. For example one of the most popular anime right now, is 'Naruto Shippuden' which features a light-hearted ninja teen who uses the life energy from the giant fox demon living inside of him to become stronger. Another very popular show is 'Attack on Titan' my favourite which features a group of people trying to survive the giant, naked cannibals called 'Titans' who come into their town and try and devour everyone. Y'know ... Stuff like that. Anime nerds are used to jumping into highly fictionalized shows therefore using their imaginations much more regularly than the average person.
4. They Explore Meaningful Concepts Regularly -
Despite the unrealistic nature of most anime, many shows teach viewers a lesson or explore at least one major thematic issue central to human existence. For example, 'Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood' explores the themes of kinship, death and destruction. 'Sword Art Online' explores how we construct our perceptions of reality and what makes one reality the true one.
5. They Really Value Friendship -
Of the core concepts discussed in anime, friendship is often one of them. Many shows emphasis on how rare a truly good friend is, and this makes many anime nerds really appreciate the good friends they have.
6. They Always Have The Perfect Cure For A Bad Day -
Everybody has a terrible day in their life at some point, and one of those days is when you don't want to deal with anything or anyone. Anime is perfect for those kind of days. Regardless of what you feel. Anime has many genres, some of which are more light-hearted, sci-fi or serious. You can always fin something to cater to your bad mood.
7. They Know Nothing Is Impossible -
One of the best parts of an anime is how often they can surprise you, sometimes for the better but other times for the worst. But if anime nerds know one thing, it's that nothing is impossible. There are so many twists and turns you can almost start to see what could happen in the show because you know that it's not impossible and can actually happen.
8. They Can Easily Make New Friends -
Not only is it easy for anime nerds to be open to making new friends but the community of anime fanatics is huge even in the U.S alone! This makes it really easy to find a new friend who you have a lot in common with.
9. Most Are Comfortable With Being 'Weird' -
Unless you watch anime, you probably think anime nerds a little be weird.but it's okay as long as you aren't mean. Very few people are born watching anime so you probably would have thought anime nerds were weird at some point. (I know I did!) Anime nerds are often used to being called 'weird' and some feel comfortable with ourselves because of it.
10. They Get To Cosplay -
My final reason is that anime fans get cosplay. Cosplaying is when you dress up as a character from an anime, TV show, comic or even a movie. It's kinda like dressing up for Halloween but whenever you feel like it. It's typically done with other like-minded people at large conventions. This can mean everyone can have a sense of togetherness and also it's just a ton of fun!
That concludes this weird blog. I kinda rambled on and I know not all the reasons apply to every anime fan out there. I mainly wrote this to show that anime fans aren't weirdos. I hope you enjoyed even if I kinda sounded like a hippie throughout the whole thing ^-^

I liked your blog Enn, not getting into anime, but nice blog eitherway
Seeing as this blog is pretty old now, I'm not really into anime as much as I used to be. I appreciate your opinion and agree that's very true and kinda sadistic valid point, though the hate and the arguments in the section below is all nonsense and quite frankly pointless.
Well said AntonNov21 C:
