Hello everyone, and welcome to the second installment in the Disproving the Myth series, where I'll be disproving the myth that giving out diamonds on PMC doesn't cost you anything!

Too often, I've seen projects like this one, that have a huge amount of views, but barely any diamonds. What causes this to happen? It might be that people have a misconception that diamonds cost money to give, or that they have a limited amount of them. Guess what... You don't. Some people, for reasons unknown, are very stingy with giving out diamonds, even if they really enjoy the project that they're viewing.

Take, for example, The Temple of Notch by disco_. This amazing project has a giant mountain with the face of Notch carved into it, and is by far one of the most impressive things that I've ever seen in Minecraft. It has 4391 diamonds, but
1,278,465 views!
Just think, if everyone that viewed The Temple of Notch diamonded it, it would have 1,278,465 diamonds! Now, I know that not everyone that views a project has a Planet Minecraft account, but the amount of diamonds that some projects could get if everyone followed this rule is staggering.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this Disproving the Myth, please don't be stingy and diamond, favorite, and subscribe for more!

(This blog is not begging for diamonds, simply analyzing what could happen if people gave out more diamonds. Thanks.)

Note that a lot of people viewing and downloading stuff on PlanetMinecraft are not logged in or do not have an account, the view/download to diamonds ratio is generally low.

I know, but I have seen instances where people are saying in the comments that they really like it, but haven't diamonded it.

Thanks man.
That example you gave is not the worst, it's still got 7 diamonds. I've seen one with like 3000 views and 1 single freaking diamond.
But seriously, great blog :)

I hate being a diamond hoarder well wanna be hoarder but I just think that if people like the project then diamond it! It really helps out and shows that you love it and want more xD.

While diamonds are nice, I think downloads are more important, honestly. It shows that people liked your submission so much, they want to use it, too (well, for things that are downloadable, anyways)! Seeing that people like the skins I make, and seeing that people are downloading them is really cool to me.

I think one part of this thing where submissions don't receive many diamonds, but a lot of views, is probably some people don't even think to give a diamond to a nice submission. It happens!
