Don't know what to build, it's tough, we've all been there. It's challenging to try and build something when you feel as if you've lost your interest. Although there is still some part of you that wants to start a new project, it's tempting to go elsewhere and spend your time in pvp matches. However, if you want to continue building but no longer have the inspiration, go find some. The internet is full of ideas, and all you have to do is find some ideas and construct your own. It's beautiful what you can do if you really want to do something. Stop thinking about what you could do and just do it.

undefined

Over the years, inspiration has been a big factor to how I do things. In fact, inspiration is the driving force that encourages us to push ourselves beyond what we already understand as "possible". Every day we hear about truly lifting moments and continue to dream. Now, it's time to turn a dream into reality. I know that sounds rather cheesy for a blog you're reading on a minecraft fan-site, but if you want a build that you're proud of you need to start thinking about what can you to "wow" others. If you are having trouble getting a grip on things, go to the internet and find ideas that you like. Infact, just go to the youtube query to check out amazing minecraft creations. Don't directly use someone's idea for your own, that wouldn't be as much fun because you need to make your own style. Once you've discovered other people's views create your own, for this is going to be your new approach to being creative, speaking of which...

undefined

This is the little voice that's been telling you it's time to build, but how can this little voice have any impact on your life? It's hardly enough to motivate you let alone stop you from playing GTA V. If you nowhave the inspiration mentioned in the last section, it might be time tolet your little voice have a chance, so give Micheal, Franklin and the crew a break. The little voice that's been trying to talk to you is yourcreative and imaginative side, let it go free. Hold nothing back and see just what you are able to do, because I am confident that you are much more capable than you give yourself credit. Use your ideas that you've come up with to make something amazing.

undefined

Finally, after all the time you've spent working with your ideas the project is done! The feeling of acomplishment after you've worked with extreme care and consideration is unparalleled to that of any fps game. You will feel good knowing you finally listened to the little voice trying so hard to get through to you, and created somehting. It wasn't easy, after all you had to try time and again to get just the right amount of material into your build, but pushing yourself beyond the "easy" standard proved worthwhile. Now, go share what you made with everyone else, be proud!

In the end of things, it matters not what other people think about what you made. The only opinion you ought to listen to is your own, you decide how valuble your creations are.

A Real-life Connection

Everything in the above blog is actually what it means to be successful in today's modern world. If you wish to compete for a job against other people, it does take a great deal of creativity and hard work to gain that goal. Nothing great can be achieved by just doing things the easy way, that is why you must allways be willing to strive for success. I've learned some valuble lessons form minecraft, but above all is "how hard are you willing to work for success?" That is why I believe minecraft to be such a good and constructive game.

The world is your story. The choice is yours on how it ends.

Keep Crafting,
  -HJ

Nice blog :)

In my case inspiration can't come from others, because I do redstone stuff and if I see someone else's creation the best I can do after seeing soneone's redstone device is to create a more compact version of it. My inspiration comes from two places:
1. survival single player world - I play a lot in survival and for everything I need I create redstone devices that will do the work for me, also I try to make things there as comfortable and fast as possible so I create very fast transportation systems, item sorters, and so on.
2. Creative world - I come in there and just start placing redstone and stuff, after a while I check what it does - and it does nothing, but it is ALMOST does something and then I see what it could do and make it to actually do it and then I get an idea of what to do with that thing. =]

btw you missed some spaces between  words, read your blog again.

I hear ya, you have some great points. It's great how you are able to open up a world and start toying around with things until you figure something out. The thing is, not many people have that ability to instantly have this urge to create. That is why I decided to write this, people have been asking me what to build if they feel like they have no creativty. The whole purpose for this blog is for someone to try and grasp an understanding of what they can do to express thier creativity and passion.

Yay! I'm so happy to see another blog from you! I actually get all my inspiration from people right here on PMC. I don't build much on MInecraft, though I do have a project or two that I am working on, but recently I have been pushing myself to improve in real life, and I always think to myself, "For my PMC friends!" :P

Great post, I find myself caught up in Minecraft fatiugue. Mainly just due to lack of variety! Building the same old 7x7 starter house and getting nowhere! Now I'm on a server building something gigantic and fun! I just blogged about it too, because half the fun is in making the house on your own and not using other people's designs :D

If you feel like you have to force yourself to build, don't build at all. I go between writing scripts and building. Once I lose inspiration for building, I'll go back to writing scripts. No point in forcing it, just let it happen :)

I understand your point, it is a good observation. Although, this blog was written to give hope to those that want to build, but cant quite find the inspiration.

Honestly inspiration can't be given out via words. Your blog might help people to understand how inspiration affects them, but it really is all up to the person.

On that note, the best inspiration is always your fellow builders. Always.
