Hello, and welcome to my interview with dreamCritting!

My questions are in blue; their answers are in red.

1. What inspired you to join PMC and begin creating content?

After I started joining servers I decided I needed a skin, so I made one, but then I decided I liked making skins so I made a few more. Then I tried to post them on Skindex, but as they didn't get any likes I tried to find somewhere when people might like them, so I found PMC. After my PMC skins got a few diamonds but none of the Skindex ones got any likes I decided to stay on PMC.

2. Do you have a favourite submission that you've posted here? If so, what is it?

I have 348 submissions so It's hard to choose, but I think the Kanna HD skin I made is one of my favourites, and the HD Cyprezz
skin. Shadowlands however is one of the projects I worked on for the longest time and I am quite pleased with how it turned out.

3. Your Shadowlands mod looks fascinating! What inspired you to create it?

My main inspiration was the Advent of Ascension mod. It is one of my favourite mods and I've played 3 separate survival servers with it, all of which were quite small servers with just me and one or two other people. I play using mods a lot so I wanted to try making my own mod - I never expected it to get so many downloads though, it has
over 2000 on Curseforge now.

4. Is there a story behind your username? If so, what is it?

My username used to be Orkleader (I couldn't think of a name so my dad chose it), but on the 16th day of September 2018 my account was hacked, my skin was changed and my username was changed to dreamCritting. Whoever hacked the account never changed the email so I reset the password and got my account back. But I was really lazy and couldn't be bothered to change it back
to Orkleader so I just kept the new name.

5. Do you have an inspiration (or more than one)? If so, what do you admire about them?

When I joined the site the first person I was inspired by was Eli the Zeratoed , she made some great blogs which I would often read when I got bored of making skins, she was the first person I really looked up to. Then there was Nitgo, he makes some great skins and hosted the first contest I entered. I have always been particularly impressed by the work of DragonsDungeon and Michiru, the way they use colors and shading is definitely something I hope to be able to do one day.

6. What IRL hobbies do you enjoy?

Well I used to like drawing and making artwork, especially painting tiny plastic figures which I would buy unpainted and then spend weeks painting. However before I even joined PMC I had run out of space on my shelves so I couldn't buy more. And these days I can make far better digital art than anything I could do on paper so I don't really have any hobbies IRL.

7. Do you have a favourite PMC or Minecraft-related memory? If so, what is it?

Some of my favourite minecraft memories are of the modded survival servers I used to do with ItsDoctor and theclicker, such as the time I logged onto a server and found that theclicker had stayed up most of the night building the largest Buildcraft quarry system I had ever seen. And my first ever modded survival world was really fun, there was no keep inventory so I had to be super careful. And the PMC prom of May 2020 and the PMC 10th anniversary party were both amazing events. One of my favourite PMC memories was becoming a moderator, Cyprezz contacted me without any warning, only an hour before I was going to go to bed, and
asked if I wanted to be a moderator - I didn't get much sleep that night lol.

(A/N: Aw, that's wonderful! Congratulations again. :)

8. What advice would you offer to someone new to PMC?

What advice would you offer to someone new to PMC? That's easy, I'd say don't steal skins or I'll yeet your ass off the site I'd say don't give up if nobody likes your skins, unless you're already an experienced skin maker it's unlikely that your first skins will get more than 3 - 4 diamonds, getting popular takes time and although you can make it happen quicker by learning how to shade it's always going to take a long time. But making great content is not the only way to get popular, just being an active and friendly person will also help a lot, people like Spongegar15 and yoshiciaohave far more subscribers than people who make similar skins to them,
because people like their personality.

9. Do you have any goals here on PMC, whether for your content or for yourself? If so, what are they?

Do you have any goals here on PMC, whether for your content or for yourself? If so, what are they? There isn't really an ultimate goal, as my content improves it will get more diamonds, I'll reach higher levels and get more subs. Reaching level 100 would be great, having the most subs would be great, but the main thing is the journey, that's what I'm here for, each goal leads to another.

10. How would you describe yourself in three words?

Enthusiastic, happy, minecrafter
