Becoming a server moderator may be a little harder then what you think. So today i'm going to supply you tips and tricks to becoming a moderator on that server you truly love!

Make sure you enjoy the server:
No point working so hard to get moderator on a server that you don't even care about, so choose wisely. Preferably your favourite servers. Being a moderator on multiple servers is difficult considering you have to keep switching over from server to server, making things interruptive and irritating.

Introduce Yourself:
Don't be one of those people who just fit in the ground. Get to know some people, preferably the staff members. Show them you have a good reputation by being generous and kind to the staff.

Help out:
Help out with any help that the staff need, for example: if they are building a new spawn for a new update, ask to help out! Show them that you support the server and enjoy helping out.

Be active:
Trust me, your never getting moderator on that server that you play on a couple of times a week for half an hour or so. Make it your main server that you play on. Try to be even more active then some staff.

Be kind ALL THE TIME:
I've done this before, and it doesn't work. Don't be one of those people who are complete dicks when no staff are on, but when a staff member joins you immediately become the kindest person on earth. It won't work out, trust me. People will report you for being rude, disrespectful or any other thing you did involving breaking the rules. Also the owner of the server has permission to see every chat message typed ever since the server started. So when the owner perhaps go through that chat, make them see your kind and respectfulness to the other players, helping out. Proving that you would be a great staff member.

Become friends with the owner:
Add him on skype, or another communication application. Get to know him, play with him, work on the server together and be kind when talking to them, don't be one of those idiots who swear and rage in every sentence. This will make them think of you as a cool person, and if your good friends. Become staff is really easy.

Don't keep asking:
So many people i see nowadays just repetitively keep asking for mod or op. Its so irritating. IT. NEVER. WORKS. I don't know what it takes to get that in that persons mind, that randomly asking will give you moderator. You have to earn it. If you ask, the owner may assume your just desperate, and that you just want the powers, not to respect the server. If you are good friends with them, perhaps ask politely ONCE. If they so no, prove it too them. By following these tips!

Recommend tips or advice to the staff:
Give them suggestions like: Hey, perhaps we could make a spleef arena together? Or something that you believe is needed to the server. This will convince them that you would be good coming up with great ideas for the server.
