Hey guys! Lux_u_ray here. Today I'm writing my first tutorial blog, in which I show you how to effectively use World Edit on servers!

Some of you may not know what "World Edit" is, but may have heard of it from YouTubers or from servers you regularly play on. Basically, World Edit does exactly what it says on the tin. It edits worlds. Whether you want to create a tower that looms over you, or a mansion fit for a king, Word Edit can, and will assist you.

I will be going through the few basic commands. From there, you will be able to figure out a lot by yourself, as once the basics are grasped, the rest will come to you.

Now, when it comes to using World Edit for the first time, you'll want to start of with the command //wand . Make sure you use the double-slash, or the command won't work as it should.

So you should end up with the wooden axe, considering this is the default tool, anyways. The default tool is configurable in the .config file, but I wouldn't worry too much about that right now. To get started, you'll want to pick two points to edit the space of. As expected from Minecraft, the two points will make a square/rectangle.

You can see in the last picture I left click a block, and it appears with "First Position set to...". With the right mouse button, you can set the Second Position. When you have the two positions you'd like, you can type //set [item name/id].

I used the command //set wood here. You can use //set wood:1 for spruce wood, wood:2 for birch, and so on. You can also select two points, one higher than the other and set the whole area to a certain block type. Or, you can type //walls [Item name/id] to create a box of those two dimensions.

The walls I made here are with the command //walls wood:1.
To no surprise, that truly is the basics of World edit. Although it may be useful to know this next bit too.
You can use "air" as a block ID, thus create holes and such with it. If you're considering creating a canyon or a mountain, I think this'll be beneficial to you. You'll want to start by grabbing a tool other from the wooden axe. I usually use a hoe for this. With the hoe (or other tool) in your hand, use the command //brush sphere air [radius number]. I suggest you use the number 5 as a maximum to start with, and go down as you do so. When you right click with the hoe in your hand, you will create a space of air wherever your crosshair is.

I think it's pretty straight forward from here. You can also use this command to create spheres of grass and dirt. Using air is only to create holes in something. You can also replace "sphere" with "cylinder", although I don't usually use this. In the request I was given, I was asked on advice on how to make a canyon. Using the air brush we have now, we can use it to create the crevasse of the canyon. At the bottom of the canyon, I used a radius of 3 (//brush sphere air 3) to make it a little small than the top.

Now you're probably thinking: "But Lux! Canyons aren't made of dirt!"
Of course not. That's why there's the //replace command! Select the highest point of the canyon, and the lowest. It might be worth building a tower and digging a hole to. When you've selected your two points, type //replace [item name/id]. This will replace the selected ground with your preferred block type! The only bummer with that command is that you will have a square of stone. What you can do instead, if you don't want that, is type //replace dirt stone. That'll get rid of the dirt in the area, and replace it with stone. (If you couldn't tell.)

There are gonna be a few slip ups in the canyon, but they'll be easily fixable by hand, seeing as they shouldn't be too big.

This is an overlay error, because I'm an idiot. I accidentally used //overlay grass and got rid of some grass blocks underneath, thus when using the //replace dirt stone command, it did that. It's no worry though. That's why we have the //set command. :3

The final command I'd like to show you guys, in the sphere and cylinder creators. With these, you can create huge spheres and cylinders (duh). Cylinders that can reach the sky or Spheres as big as the Earth. (Careful with this though, you don't want to crash the server and/or your Minecraft.) To do this, simply type //(h)sphere/cyl [Block name/id] [radius]. The (h) is optional. If you'd like your sphere or cylinder hollow, type //hsphere/cyl [block name/id] [radius].

That's about it on World Edit. I hope this was useful to you all. If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to send me a message, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
