Hey everyone, Greytopher here with another blog. This blog is about, well as you can see from the title, 'everyone starts somewhere'. In this blog, I hope to boost your attitude about 'getting known' and all that jazz, and I hope you all will understand that you have to work hard to achieve glory.
Everyone Begins at the Same Place...
No matter what website you're using, when you sign up, you sign up like everyone else. With PMC, you join the awesome minecraft fansite community with level 1 and no subscribers. You wonder how this magical place works, what new things there are, and how to navigate it. You see the leveling system, the fantastic posts on the front page, and you soon realize you want to become what everyone else is basically after: getting known.
You're dazed, confused, and too much of a noob to know how to upload a project. You find what you've built in the past, and after long tedious hours of figuring out how to upload your recreation of Steve's first house, you finally do it! You've posted your first project! But something is wrong. It's been two hours, yet it's only gotten 10 views, 0 favorites, 0 diamonds, and 0 comments. What did you do wrong? Maybe, just maybe, people don't like your work. You try harder this time, making the best skin, project, blog, and mod that you've ever made, and then, JUST then, you think you can make the popular reel.
But you don't make the popular reel. Infact, you've got less views on that project then you did before. What are you doing wrong? I've found myself in the same place for over a year before my blogs become popular. I wrote my first blog (Depression) because a friend was being made fun of and it lead to him being depressed. That got loads of attention, and I don't know why, and that's where my blogging spree ended up.
You Don't Spontaneously Get 'Known'...
No matter who you are (unless you're Cyprezz or a moderator...) or what you do, it's fairly rare to randomly get a couple hundred subscribers after one post, or even none. In my year of being here, I've only seen that happen once (when BebopVox joined), but other than that, it's rare that you're 'that person' that joins. A lot of people get famous off of PMC through Youtube and their subscribers subscribing to them, but then again, it's rare that you're that person.
'But Greeeeeyyy, I want to be famous!' Well, too bad. Work for it, or don't get it! It's harsh, but it's true. If you don't work for what you want, you won't get what you want. Complaining or whining for what you want will either A) Not get you anywhere or B) Get you further back then you were before. In a sense, begging for what you want is probably the worst idea you could have, since it lowers your chances of getting it and makes you look like you're a very whiny person.
I tell people everyday 'Your time will come eventually' and for the most part, that's true. Like I said above, it was almost a year before I ever got on the reel. I didn't post blogs, only projects of my building skill. I posted my first blog (which got on the reel suprisingly) about depression, and how you should watch what you say. After that, I gained a lot, and I mean a lot subscribers. When I posted blogs after that, they equally got as famous, and thus my career on blogging began. I've met some awesome people during the time that I've done this, and I'm thankful that I have this great oppritunity to share my blogs with you guys.
Don't Give Up!
If you're passionate about what you do, don't let anyone else say otherwise. If you love making buildings but aren't the best, don't give up because you get hate. Take that hate and turn it into constructive criticism. You will better improve from then, and before you know it, you've got 600 subscribers and you're rollin' in the EXP.
If you got on the popular reel once, and didn't get it the next time, that's no excuse to give up. Just because one project got popular, and the other didn't, is no reason to stop posting. 'but noone likes me!' Make them like you! Post things that you love, not because you have to (blog refference, hurp a durp).
My main point about this whole blog, is to not give up simply because you couldn't get famous right off the bat. It's extremely rare that you will get famous right when you join, but that doesn't mean to give up. It took me a year to get known, and you shouldn't quit after a month. Keep posting awesome things, and eventually YOUR DAY WILL COME!
Hey! Thanks for reading! If you like this blog, leave a diamond, favorite, and above all subscribe for more content!
