Obsidian is hard to mine and very difficult to destroy with explosives but is it as good as we think?
Obsidian has a blast a ressistance of 6,000.
So lets think about this It is possible to destroy obsidian with TNT. Obsidian's blast resistance is 6,000, while 1 TNT's power is 4. Dividing 6,000 by 4 equals 1,500 TNTs to blow up one block of obsidian
Is it worth gathering obsidian for a base on a normal faction pvp raid server?
No it is not. Simply dirt covered with water has a blast resistance that is not matched by any other being literally impossible to break.
However there is one large exception being the new Hybrid Cannon.
However this is only a danger on OP PVP RAID FACTION SERVERS. Where tnt is easy access
So simply on a normal faction server a dirt box wither water around it can protect you and your chest.
