Today I will be interviewing; Kefka

1. How did you discover PMC and or Minecraft?
I discovered Minecraft when my twin brother showed me a Yogacast video of it on youtube when they first started playing Minecraft. I ended up watching a ton of that video series and decided to purchase the game after that. I bought Minecraft when 1.0 had just come out and it was the best $15 I ever spent.
I discovered PMC when I was searching the net for a skin to use. I ended up downloading a RoboCop skin that I used for my first Minecraft skin.
2. What inspired you to make your name "Kefka"
Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES was one of my favorite games growing up and Kefka was the main villian in it.
I just always thought he was a really funny and cool character, plus you gotta love that evil laugh of his.
3. Why did you start making skins for both yourself, and other people?
When I first started playing Minecraft I wanted a good Kefka skin to use and couldn't really find one that I liked, so I decided to try and make my own. I already had some experience with graphics, graduating with an art degree in Graphic Design. I downloaded a little program that had just come out called MCskin3D and gave it my best shot. I though the skin came out pretty good for my first try, so I uploaded it. It got very little attention with only a few views and not much of anything else.
I didn't really plan on making any other skins after that, but I really enjoyed making that first skin and decided to continue making other skins for fun and to share.
I remember seeing the popular skins on the pop reel at that time and thinking to myself that I would never get to that point.
4. How often do you upload skins?
I try to upload a new skin every week, but it doesn't always work out that way and I seem to go on hot and cold streaks. It also depends on the type of skin I am creating. If I am working on a highly detailed contest skin, I like to take my time and spend mutiple weeks planning and designing it until its perfect. On the other hand, my simple cartoon skins are much quicker to make and I can easily pull one out every week. I do seem to spend a lot more time on a skin than your average skinner from what I've heard. My simple shaded cartoon skins take me 1-2 hours, my more normal shaded skins around 4-8 hours, and my contest skins can take me anywhere from 8-16 hours. So to finally answer your question, I think my average is a new skin every two weeks.
5. Who has been your biggest inspiration so far?
My biggest inspiration from the beginning was Halucid. His skins were always my favorite and I would study and learn from them. He was the first person I saw that really used the hat layer to his advantage and that inspired me to do the same.
Some others that have also inspired me on the way were Niko, LilFella, ScarletBox, Unktenchi & OldEagle(before he was IceKreem)
6. What are your two favorite colors to skin with?
I honestly don't really have a color preference, I usually decide on the character way before I decide on what colors to use. So I really only pick what colors to use based on what colors the character is that I am skinning. If I had to pick two colors that come to mind, it would be purple and blue I guess.
7. What is your favorite video game character?
Kefka! Duh!
nah...actually Link would have to be my all time favorite video game character. I have always been a big fan of The Legend of Zelda series starting all the way back to the two on the NES. Yes, I was alive back then and no dinosaurs were not roaming the earth.
8. If you think you could describe yourself in two words, what would they be?
Logical & Creative
9. What do you think is your favorite/most successful skin?
I think my most successful skin ever has to be my Totem of Emotion skin. It had, by far, the most diamonds I have ever got in the week on the pop reel (over 250) I am still kind of bummed that I didn't win the Emotions Contest with it. :(
As for my favorite skin, it's really hard to pick just one because so many come to mind. But, if I had to choose one, it would have to be my TMNT skin. Even though there are all four turtle skins in that single skin post, it is still considered one skin.
So there, I found a loophole and got to choose my favorite four skins for the price of one. *Kefka's evil laugh
10. What is your favorite game to play other than minecraft?
Magic the Gathering was my game of choice before I discovered Minecraft. Played it for many years and had a pretty high DCI ranking in it. I even created and designed my own full card set that I printed out and played with my friends. I still have my giant collection of cards and decks, but very rarely do I ever play it anymore.
