This is my "Minedeas" contest entry, Can ya' dig it?
(I made a bobber/hook out of the text :P)
So I could go with millions of ideas, for example, more ores
(like copper, silver, etc) to make mining more intense,
or to add alloys into the game (such as bronze, steel, etc) to
shorten the gap between the armors/weapons, or new
mobs/items, or a left handed option for your screen (basically
just seeing Steve's arm/item held on the left side of the
screen), or a new noise for the ender eye (its got a computer
beep at the end of it), or npc missions (they would send you to
kill mobs, or get stuff), or a way to mix potions together (so you
can have an invisible and a speed boost potion in one (or any
variations of them)), or anything else, Iv'e got loads of ideas
for how to improve Minecraft's game-play, but this is a single
idea contest, so I'm going to stick with the one thing (a
function) that I believe should have been added into the game
since this item came out.
To have the ability to retrieve items and broken blocks from a distance, along with the ability to react with levers from a distance with a fishing pole, it would be a very useful function for players, it would never get old, and you can do it in real life (its pretty challenging to do, but still), and it would be 117% awesome.
