Now there are 26 different Paintings in Minecraft, all of which are very hard to get. However, if you use the summon command you can get any painting you want. All you need to know is where you want it, what direction it will be facing, and what painting you wish to have.
/summon Painting ~ ~ ~ {TileX: X coordinate ,TileY: Y coordinate ,TileZ: Z coordinate ,Direction: Direction the painting is facing ,Motive: Name of Painting }
/summon Painting ~ ~ ~ {TileX:528,TileY:60,TileZ:-239,Direction:1,Motive:BurningSkull}
Now to you need several things you need to have before run the code. Those are what painting do you want, how big is the painting, what direction is it facing, does it have a wall behind it. Also paintings can be weird sometimes so you have to play with them to get them the way you want.
-Now the Direction that the painting is facing works by using 0 for south, 1 for west, 2 for north, and 3 for east.
- I have found that when Summoning large paintings you need to add an extra block around the perimeter of the painting to keep it from despawning. They act strange sometimes
-You need to have the second sets of coordinates, but when you do spawn the Painting, it needs to be in loaded chunks.
- Also I have found sometimes it is hard to get rid of spawned paintings so run this command while you character is near the painting you wish to get rid of.
/kill @e[type=Painting,r=2]
-In 1.8 Direction will be changed to Facing, it works the same way as Direction, just a different name.
Also in 1.8 placeing paintings have changed, they can no longer over lap each other when you placeing them by hand. In additon to they will not overlap itemframes.

Oh and Also I am to this so Yeah...If you hae anything I should know then please let me know...
An important note, though; I found that the location and facing of my player character influenced the placement location of the painting to a fair degree. In order to place one of my spawned paintings, I actually had to make a hole in my wall big enough for me to stand in, and then stand in it facing forward, so that the painting would spawn in the correct spot.
Once I got that figured out, though, everything worked smoothly! :)
