How many times have you heard someone say something like, "This game has better graphics than Minecraft! That's why it is better!"
It really drives me nuts how quickly people judge a book by it's cover. Once they give something a chance, they might find that they like the game or sport or whatever it is they are trying. All it takes is one chance to test whether your 'theory' is true or not.
Today, my friend came up to me and asked me if I knew any good games that he could play.
"I really like playing Minecraft becau-"
"That game sucks! Who wants to play in a blocky world that have horrible graphics. [Example Game] has realistic graphics so it is MUCH better than Minecraft."
"But you haven't even tried playing the game!"
"I don't care, horrible graphics determine whether a game is good or not."
I'm not saying that I'm perfect and I don't judge books by their covers. We all do that every day. It's completely natural to judge, well, pretty much anything. However, we must keep in mind to judge others intelligently.
My advice: Do not judge the submission by it's cover photo. Take a minute or two to view the submission. Once that is done, then by all means, judge according to the content.
And remember to keep in mind respect for other members and what they've submitted. Don't be downright rude when commenting. Some people actually work hard on their submissions - even though it doesn't turn out the way they want it to. Being nice while making a comment doesn't hurt.
Better graphics is just another thing that makes the game better. However, it is not the main thing that does improve a game.
I think that a good game has to have some sort of storyline, a good amount of content to experiment with and use, many different in-game applications and it has to be fun to play of course.
These are just MY OPINION so please do not argue over what defines a
good game in the comments. I'm the kind of guy who likes sandbox games because of the almost endless possibilities.
Just to prove my point, here's a small list to start off the many things
that can be done in Minecraft:

So go try something new or a game you haven't tried before. If you find that you like it, good for you!

- Redstone contraptions, traps and gadgets

You can judge a book by it's cover, however, if you open the book and read it a little bit, you just might like it.

Minecraft contains many creative things(or simple things)that take CPU Power,and if some morons
would make minecraft look like real life(no cubes)they would crash the game FOREVER.That means there is no more place for graphics in this creative game.The morons that I mean,they don't know what's that:Creativity,Sandbox,Free,Building,etc.
FYI: My friend DID say those exact words to me on Skype 10 minutes before I was inspired to write this.
