I'm sure I'm not the only one who has this problem: Unwanted mobs (Namely bats and slimes on superflat)
I'v been working on my Labyrinth, and I wanted to add some monster fights as well as mechanical traps, but I know that if I do not set the gamemode to peaceful the entire area would be infested with slimes.
Also, since the new Halloween update bats have been infesting the various nooks and dark crannies throughout. Besides obstructing vision, the bats ruin the feel of the puzzle I was creating.
I did some research and I finally found the solution to this problem: Just type [/gamerule doMobSpawning false] into the chat window. Bats and slimes don't bother me anymore, and If I want to add monsters to my Labyrinth, I can still use spawn eggs.
Just trying to tell others about this handy tip!
