I'm making a supervillain for BizDC's superpower skin contest, and I chose the Gas Powers. I really liked this idea, so i decided to do a backstory first, then I'll draw her, then I'll do the skin.
I already have like 100 superpowered OCs, so she fits right in.

Villain Name: Hazardous
Identity: Violetta Hanzman (Female, 32)
Occupation: Scientist/Villain/ Eco-Terrorist
Powers, Abilities, and Weapons: Gas Manipulation, Can Breathe any chemical (except oxygen), Gas Canisters, Intelligence
Personality Traits: “Toxic,” Manipulative, Cruel, Psychotic
Design details: Wears a modified Hazmat Suit that keeps her Gas around her. Her skin is pale green and her eyes are misty white.

Backstory:
Violetta Hanzman was born with a rare birth defect. It was discovered when she was only 3 when she fell into a pool with plastic covering her mouth. She was submerged for 15 minutes before they could pull her out. When they did, she was fine. It was discovered that Violetta did not need to breathe oxygen to survive, but instead, any gas. However, prolonged exposure to any other gas makes Oxygen harmful to her. After her first incident, she developed Asthma. Despite this, she’s always looked at this as her own personal superpower and decided to help anyone she could with this. That’s why she decided to study gases and she became an expert in her field after she got out of college. She was one of the best in her field, so much so that she was assigned on a top-secret experiment, HZ-18. HZ-18 was developed during the Vietnam war as a much more experimental version of Agent Orange. Anyone who worked on HZ-18 died mysteriously, with any and all notes on the gas being strange and cryptic. Violetta was urged to wear a Hazmat suit while working with it, but she refused. At first, she was cautious and kept HZ in its container, but she soon found the gas fascinating and became obsessed with it. She began to fill the room with the gas to better analyze it. She ate, slept and stayed in the lab with it for months. While she was able to breathe it, the other effects were taking effect. She found that the gas was almost alive and parasitic. It began to speak to her, and she spoke back. They grew an understanding of each other. Seeing this, her employers decided it was time to stop the project. They withdrew her funds right before her biggest breakthrough. This made HZ and Violetta angry. She protested but ended up being locked in the lab for months more, suffering from dehydration, starvation, and sleep deprivation. HZ kept telling her that they were the only ones who knew anything, everyone else was just scared of them. When the day came that they decided to open the door, HZ had fully corrupted Violetta, who attacked the workers who opened the door. Violetta soon realized she could no longer breathe oxygen, so she stole one of the workers Hazmat suits, modified it to fill her body with only HZ, and made off to get revenge on those who’ve wronged her.
