The Coreseeker's Cave
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
This picture took very long to render, due to the anabled emitters.
I didn't do that much on the picture actually.
I just removed some noisy dots and smoothed some stuff out, while working with light effects.

The Forgotten Laboratory
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
This picture was the first one, in which I ever put so much effort in.
You can't render at night with Chunky, so I had to make that in an artificial way.
Besides that I added some clouds to the blank sky and added a moon aswell.
The scene is a tribute to my network "Axe Lab".

Apimil's Airship
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
I was keen on trying some new effects out, so I used the airship of a friend as a base for this picture.
It was quite an effort to make it night in this picture aswell and especially the many light effects took me at least a hour.

Bad weather
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
This picture was an extreme effort.
The render and the base weren't that complicated, but all the light effects and weather effects on this picture literally took me hours.
I learned really much while making this picture, so I hope you like it ;D

Apocalypse
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
Even without endless effort this picture became quite good and got an interesting look.
ELS is going to be released soon by the way, be sure to not miss it by hitting the "Subscribe" button, if you want ^^

Arctica
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
I see the last picture as a failure, so I decided to redo it and edit it in a different way.

Polygon Bird
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
Lately, I discovered the low-poly art and I must say, it looks great.
I started by making this bird in Photoshop, but then I decided to start making "real" low poly objects with Blender.
Look forward to see some great content.

First World
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
As I said yesterday, I started experimenting with Blender, which is a really bucking hard thing, because the program is basically really complicated and not self explenatory at all.
Well, here are some first results ;D

Low Poly Background
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
I saw a lot of stuff in that style, so I decided to make my own one entirely from scrap, with Blender and Photoshop.
It turned out nice and became my new desktop wallpaper ;D

Horrin

Well, I guess it's time for something Minecraft related again!
A friend asked me to work on the presentation of project, so I jumped in with some editing and helped him out.
I will post a link as soon as the project is available.

Time to reveal the final, third part of the collection!

The Foxhole Forest
Spoiler - click to reveal

This cover was created in cooperation with Jazzy Z, the creator of the build, I rendered.
I hope you enjoy this one ;D

Twitch headers [Useful & Free]
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined
I made these for free for a friend.
If you want to see more of these, a donation would really be motivating at this point and would help me to continue my work.

Rollercoaster
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
This the best work so far I'd say.
I rendered the shame out of my computer, so I could finally get these astonishing results.
Best thing 'bout it: NO WATERMARK!

Abbey
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
I just don't have any kind of idea what the nether to say about this.

Isle De Chazergo
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
Once again I helped out a friend for free with a cool thumbnail.
By the way, you guys are always free to ask me for some help with your thumbnails.
Sadly, I won't take care of every single request, it's worth a shot though.

All I do is win
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
I recently posted a PVP tutorial and decided to make a public version of the logo in 1920*1080 pixels, which you can use as a desktop wallpaper.
Have fun with it!

OCTABOX
Spoiler - click to reveal
undefined
Spoiler - click to reveal

As some of you might know, I am the proud owner of OCTABOX, one of the best and most popular 8x8 packs.
The latest cover is quite pretty and deserves a place on this blog in my opinion, as a clean and beatiful Minecraft Wallpaper with no logos and watermarks.

you should do some tutorials on this, I for one am looking forward to it. I could do some of these things myself, probably, but figuring out exactly how is very time consuming. Also, congrats on getting to the first Blender level, making a render that actually looks good!

the latest two pictures are rendered with Chunky and then edited with Photoshop. My renders are actually quite low-level, but I improve them with Photoshop.

I detect the syndrome of self-underestimation here. It's common among creative people. They see themselves as being low-skilled because they can't draw hyperrealistic pictures like the one-in-100 million guy, thus they deprecate their own creations.
However, these renders are actually pretty good, especially the ones of the airship and logo base. I want to know how you got that skymap to go underneath as well as above.
  • Headaxe

  • August 4, 2014, 12:04 pm
you can "Mirror Sky At Horizon", that will load the skymap above and underneath the world. The clouds in the Airship picture are Photoshopped.
Mmmm that lens flare and vignette tho

Well, I thought about  lowering those effects, but considering the fact they will always be seen as a miniature version, I decided to keep them on an extreme level, so they are still visible.
The untraditional and big watermarks at the bottom already tell you, that those are not thought as desktop wallpapers, but as covers.
I must agree, that the effects are too strong for a wallpaper, though.
Woah. Awesome!

the bird is sweet; how did you do it?

Well basically I used the Polygonal Selection tool and calculated the average color within the triangle, after cutting such a triangle out with Ctrl+J out of the background.
For precision, it is important to set up a grid.
Besides that, I created an action which performs all the filters and other neccessary stuff, after I selected one triangle.

Here's a useful tutorial about it:

I use Photoshop, because it is the well known program and there are a lot of tutorials and tips for it, because the community is so big.
Besides that, it is simply da best ^^

Anyway the latest two are the best/ you have improved over time.

A thing I like to do with Photoshop to enhance images is make a black brush with about 15% Opacity and put it everywhere but the focus point. The lense flare filter is also fun :)

Black brush is rather a loss.
I recommend working with a light correction mask, which makes the picture darker.

Well, if you use Chrome, then there's an app called Pixlr you can get. It isn't nearly as nice as Photoshop but it has the basics. It's kind of like an earlier version of Photoshop c: I used it to make this. Definitely not impressive, but it just shows that it has the basic Photoshop tools c:
