Hey again PMC, I just want to talk for a bit about something that's been on my mind for a little while now, and that's helping people out.
- Why people may need help -
- How to help -
- How to help -
- The benefits of helping -
However you choose to live your life, there will always be someone who is better than you, and someone who is worse than you at something. This can be due to skill, natural talent or just a little bit of experience. If you find yourself as one of the people who just has a knack for something, and you're great at it, then why not help those who perhaps aren't as great at it? You were probably once in their shoes.
For whatever reason, people will often need help. It might be to do with reading, writing, drawing or perhaps building in Minecraft. But remember, it's okay to not be good at something! Nobody is perfect, and no one will be instantly great at something as soon as they start doing it, so don't expect too much of people.
But people don't always need help just to be good at something. Some of us may need help to do the 'easiest' of things, simply because we may have a disorder of physical impairment that stops us from performing well.
Let me give you an example: Let's say you log on to your favourite Minecraft server, and the when the world loads, you find that your beloved house that you spent hours building has been attacked by griefers while you were away.
"Son of a-"
Yeah, I'd be pretty annoyed to. Now, getting angry isn't going to get your stuff back. What do you need? Help. You can ask an Admin to rollback the server and get your house back again. Simple, right? Whether there happens to be a decent Administrator on the site who's willing to help you out is a completely different thing.
The point is, in a situation like that, you're at a disadvantage, and need help to fix the problem.
It doesn't have to be Minecraft, though, people can need help with all kind of things, and it's whether or not you choose to provide that help that shows what kind of person you are.

Now, helping can be easy, or difficult. If you were the Admin in the situation above, it wouldn't exactly be torture for you to rollback the server a few hours and help that person get their house back, would it? You could also perhaps help them rebuild their house, if rolling back wasn't possible. It's all up to you how (If) you choose to help!
That's not the only way to help, though.

Thanks Dalai.
It's completely true. If you can't help someone, the least you can do is not hinder them from progress or stop them! Let's imagine you're the Admin in the situation above once again..

Don't just ignore him/her and brush the issue aside. It's still there, and that person still needs help. Even if you can't rollback the server or help with building, at least talk to the person and don't make their life hard. Just make things easier for them.
Just be a good fellow in general, and don't stop them from helping themselves!
Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, there are benefits that come from helping people out.
You're that Admin again, and you've just helped that person rebuild his/her house, and now it looks griefer-proof and as awesome as ever. The player is really grateful, and thanks you a lot. They seem really happy. You get a sort of warm feeling in your stomach, and you find yourself smiling like a goof at the screen.

Weird right? Helping others can make you feel good too! If you like that feeling, why not help people out more often?
They might also remember that you helped them, and should you find yourself in need of help sometime in the future, they could help you out!
It works both ways, and everyone likes a helpful person, so be nice! You never know, you might get something in return! ;) But don't just help because you want a reward, help because you'd want the same thing done for you, and because you're a good person!

And I'm really glad you helped me by making that pic for my texture pack.
