Hey guys, ABlindSniper115 here, and I'm about to deliver a rant. It has to do with the abundance of Herobrine stories that are written here on PMC.

A few of you guys reading this will be familiar with my Life of a Creeper Man series, but for those who do not know, it's about a creeper man who spawned into Minecraft for the first time into a tense period of time, and a war broke out between humans and mob-men. If you are interested, go ahead and check it out. But anyways, that's not what this blog is about.

Now to actually start the rant. Just look at the story section of the PMC blogs. Look how many of them have Herobrine in the title! And I can guarantee, just about any long, Minecraft-themed story you find will have Herobrine show up at one time or another! Why is this a problem? Well, for one, all the Herobrine stories will blend in together, as nearly all of them are either about a fictional encounter with Herobrine, or how he came to exist. Because they all blend together, they are less likely to be viewed than another type of story that took the same amount of time and effort to write.

Another reason this is a problem is that even for people who don't write Herobrine stories, like me, the flood of similar story posts 'washes away' our unique stories, so we get less views on our own stories as well.

One final point. This doesn't have as much to do with Herobrine stories in particular, just all the stories in general. Most of the stories I've seen are poorly written. I don't mean they have bad storylines, I mean their actual structure is flawed. They are often cut to the result too quickly, and don't have enough details to keep it interesting to read. On top of that, many stories are made difficult to read by poor grammar.

Okay, the rant is over now. So how do I think this problem can be remedied?

One: Don't write Herobrine stories. It's been done many times before, and you will not get noticed.

Two: Don't take shortcuts! Elaborate! Instead of saying simply that a character walked from one place to another, try occasionally elaborating, saying that while he walked from point A to point B, and did (action), say he looked around, gazed at the sun shining through the thin leaves of a spruce tree, without thought of how in the world he would achieve what he was planning to do! Get the point!

Three: Don't write with improper grammar, and have plenty of paragraphs so the story isn't one big blob of words. For some people, such as young people or people still learning English, this will be a problem. Don't worry! You can still write! Type your stories into a program, such as Microsoft Word, first, because it will alert you of any spelling or grammatical mistakes, and how to fix them!

For those of you who might be put off about because of rule number Two, There is one, and only one, exception to that rule. This is it. If you have writers block, or are on a particularly long, uneventful stretch of the story, then, and only then, can you make a shortcut! The first exception is obvious, better to have a hole or two in your story than for it to not be uploaded at all. The second exception is because you do not want to bore your readers! You want them to become interested in your stories, want to know what happens next, and then, when they finish reading, check out what other ones you have uploaded!

Okay, final note here. I know that this blog will not achieve what I would like it to, and that I'm just one more person on the internet ranting about something I don't like. But as long as this improves just a few peoples writing habits, I'll have improved the writing section just a little.

Okay! That's it! If you agree with me on this post, please support it by diamonding, favoriting, and sharing this post! I hope to hear some feedback from you!
