Minecraft has been around for 5 years, and all good things don't last forever....
Hello, and thats for taking the time to read my predictions of how Minecraft will "fall from grace", so to speak...
I can presume that most of you have heard that Mojang will be strictly enforcing there EULA on the way multiplayer servers can operate, and if not, here is the rundown:
1) Minecraft servers can not make money from "providing a service" that will give those players an advantage over others (This kills the entire "Donation Perks" System- giving players commands and item kits for there real-life money). This means that many servers that use this system will succub to there high running costs, espically the big ones like Mineplex and HCRaid.
2) * This doesn't apply to Cosmetic items, the type of stuff that Hub servers use, like "particle effects" and "pets". What do you say, you don't need donation kits? that you can just do the ol' Hard-Soft currency switch O' Ro, No you can't that also is banned. Not so cocky now about getting round this, are you?
3) Donations have to be just that. People must give and not expect back (apart from what i've stated above). The ecomonic climate still hasn't fully recovered, and money is as tight as ever. This, coupled with the fact that people don't just give out of genoriousity, ends my rundown of EULA events.
The majority of Minecraft servers won't be able to deal with the withdrawl of the donations drug, and the community will flop, as Singleplayer can go only so far without getting boring (even with mods).
To try to offer a better service, Mojang lauched "Realms" - an overpriced half-a**ed attempt to replace these servers. "Realms offers a 20 slot world, where you can invite players to join, but only 10 can play at one given time, so f**k that idea, Nancy! The enforcement of the EULA will cause all the players to waste there money on Realms, or just player singleplayer, and eventually, the community will have enough, and will leave...
THE END, How long will it take? Maybe a week, a month or a year. I think it will fall fairly quickly....
