Many people always ask. How do you find diamonds, where is the best place to mine them. This is my new series of How To blogs in which I'll teach you how to do many different things! Keep tuned by subscribing and comment on any suggestions or questions you want answering.
The quick way.
Ravines. Ravines are one of the easiest ways to find your first diamonds, if you find a deep ravine you're sure to find quite a handful of them pretty little stones. Not only is a huge hole already dug out for you but ravines usually link up with dungeons and big cave systems deep down below the surface. A ravine may be hard to find but if you know where one is you can be sure there is a few diamonds at the bottom.
The long way.
Strip mining. Strip mining is an effective way of not just getting diamonds but finding many other valuable ores in the process. First of all you need to get down to the most common diamond level. Many people have different opinions of which level to mine at, you can read about this below if you do not know yet. Once you're at the diamond spawning level the most efficient way is by following a few simple rules in this picture.

As you can see, every single block is exposed in that area and requires less mining than clearing out a whole area. This way, it saves your pick-axe, it saves inventory space and is quicker. I highly recommend this procedure if you have the time.

One of the biggest discussions in a server is the level at which diamonds spawn. Diamonds most frequently spawn in two places, but first what does level mean? The level at which diamond spawns can be easily found by pressing F3 and checking your Y co-ordinate. An alternative from this is counting up from the lowest bedrock being 1.
The lowest place diamond can spawn is at the bedrock level between 1 and 3. Here diamond can be wrapped around the bed rock and usually yields a low amount. The more common level diamonds spawn is between 10 and 15. Many people say different things but in my opinion this is a good average result but is mostly down to personal preference where you want to mine.
