Need a hand with the new PvP system? Fear not! I will assist you in part 3 of the all around guide to Minecraft.
Disclaimer: Don't comment down "Oh 1.9 sucks it ruins pvp" and the like because they really did wanted to make PvP strategic. Not this retarded spamfest. But were too busy adding in other convenient features. 1.9 PvP is very strategic, you have to time your hits, you have to actually know when to stop blocking and attack. You have to know when to attack with a Sword, or an Axe. There have been too many games where you don't get punished for spamming. But for once, a game that actually punishes players for spamming. Things were way too OP, and some times it was difficult to detect hackers because they didn't have Aimbot, but had KA. Now it's way easier, because hitting without your weapon readied deals up to 80% less damage. And plus, does swinging a sword/axe made out of diamond seem easy? Nope. Anyways;

What's new in 1.9 PVP?
1.9 PvP revamps the entire system, adding a cooldown to attacks, shields, and other cool features.
Weapon and Tool Cooldown- This added cooldown comes in the form of how long it takes for one to fully raise the weapon. The longer you fill up the cooldown, the more damage you do. Spamming the weapon regardless of raising the cooldown even by a few moments, will cut up to 80% damage (Dealing only about 2-3 hearts with a Diamond Sword, lower than a wooden sword. And about 3-4 hearts with a Diamond Axe, equal to stone sword). Swords are readied at about 1.7 seconds, Axes in about 2. Swords also deal a small Area of Effect damage equal to around 2x2 block radius.
SUMMARY/TL,DR: -The cooldown is basically how long until your weapon is ready to deal full damage. The earlier the player swings again, the less the damage dealt.
Shields- Shields replace the blocking ability of swords, like blocking, Shields cuts up to half the damage and can now deflect arrows.
SUMMARY/TL,DR: Shields block arrows, cut up to half the damage, and have a small chance to be temporarily disabled by Axes.

Melee Combat
-If your opponent spams his weapon, ignore the damage, as it most likely will not increase (unless he/she starts properly using it).
-NEVER, swing blindly, you will almost always end up hitting nothing, wasting your cooldown on nothing.
-Circle around your enemy. Not only does this confuse them, but it grants you those very precious seconds to re-arm your weapon and strike again.
-Aim for crits from time to time, but not too frequently, as the opponent can knock you back a few blocks if they attack as you crit.
-Learn when to switch from Swords to Axes, and vice versa. Swords deal less damage, but their cooldown is faster and deal small Area Damage when fully charged. Axes are much slower, but deal heavy damage and can disable shields for a few seconds.
-If you disable their shield with an axe, deal 1-2 more attacks with it, then switch to your sword until their shield recovers.
-Swords are based on swift, but powerful attacks. Axes are based on brute strength, and though slow, can quickly cut down unprepared enemies.
-NEVER, engage an enemy unprepared or unaware of their equipment.
-If possible, keep both an Axe and Sword on you, using the Axe to deal the first blows, then switch to your Sword, to chip away at the opponent's health and finishing them off with the Axe.
-Learn where using an ender pearl would be efficient, questions such as;
Are there other players that may or may not be in tandem with your primary opponent?
Are there any environmental hazards or obstacles such as soul sand, cobwebs, lava, or fire?
Will this pearl give enough time to regroup or retreat?
Are there any other players allied with you, and if so, can you reach them with just this one pearl?
These and many other questions are vital even to a single pearl, because if you fail, you might have put yourself in an even deadlier situation!
-Use the Axe when dealing with enemies affected by potion effects such as Blindness, Nausea, Slowness, and Mining Fatigue.
-If possible, fool the enemy, put your armor away, making the opponent loosen up. And the moment you strike, equip your armor again.
-Keep multiple sets of armor with you, I played a game of OP EggWars/MoneyWars, and forgot to bring an extra set of diamond armor, and so the damage chipped through my gapples and resistance effect until I finally died.
-Keep your opponent in familiar territory, so you can summon allies faster.
-If bad comes to worse, eat a few Chorus Fruit. Not only do they teleport you a few blocks, but they grant a brief boost of Regeneration II.

You don't need to post a new blog, you can edit this one.
Looks nice, and got good details. The picture is a little bugged out, the bog itself is great.
