Being a Server Moderator

If you're reading this, then that probably means that you want to be a good server moderator! But first of all, how do you become a server moderator? Moderators are usually people who are trusted by the owner of the server, and they're trusted to be the backbones of the server. Without the moderators, the whole server would be in chaos. Sometimes, a application is required and sometimes, you just get promoted in game. Nonetheless, you should always remember:

-Be active
-Have a nice attitude
-When it comes to applications:
-Use correct punctuation and grammar. And dun tipe lyk dis.

Also, you've probably heard the saying "Quality, not Quantity". But let's face it. Quantity usually gets you a higher mark. The best it to write Qualitative and Quantitative, it'll make your application seem sophisticated and detailed.

And most important of all: Start Small
There's nothing worse than starting off as moderator on a huge 50/100+ slot server, cause you won't know how to handle it. Moderating is a tough job! So start off by moderating small servers, and slowly moving up if you're ambitious!

Ok, let's assume that your application got accepted and you're now a server moderator! Congratulations! Now get on the server on moderate! Now, in the first few days of being a moderator, you need to be at the top of your game. This is because the admins will be watching you closely to see how well you do your job. Consider this the Trial period.

As a moderator, your job is to make sure that everyone is following the rules to create a good gaming environment for the other players. While doing so, make sure you:

Have a good attitude - Keep calm! You don't want to go on a rage and ban everyone for every little thing. Although you're trying to be strict, also try to be a bit relaxed! Nobody likes a stuck-up Mod!

Always vanish before you randomly TP - In the POV of the player, there's nothing more annoying than having someone suddenly appear in their face. However, it's fine if someone asked to to go

Don't abuse your powers - Pretty self explanatory. Dont use your powers to grief, spawn in items for yourself/others etc.

Listen to both sides of the story - When two people are having a skirmish, be sure to listen to both of them. Put yourself in each of their shoes.

Lastly, remember that although you have a higher rank, it doesn't mean that you are superior to the other players. Don't show off your powers, threaten to ban people, play around with the mod/admin commands. Just think that you're all the same, but you just have the ability to investigate things.

And that's it for my moderator guide, my first blog post! If you liked it, please leave a diamond! If you have any suggestions, Please leave a comment!
