Now, breeding horses is an easy thing, however there are a few requirements:
-When breeding, the two horses must be no more than 4 blocks away from each other
-No other horses can be within 8 blocks
-The player cannot go within 4 blocks of them for the 1/2 a day that they take to breed.
The unfortunate thing in the game is, the horse mobs that spawn automatically (bat horses, skeleton horses and Nightmare, pegasus's and unicorns) cannot be caught. They've gotta be bred!
In order to breed two horses, this can be done by giving them both PUMPKIN or MUSHROOM SOUP.
The number's 1-4 represent the value of the horse.

First thing's first. The link below is the breeding manual, basically. It works exactly like a mathematics table. The ones on the outside, equal the one in the middle (within the lines). The horses down the far left side, are all of the normal horses that are possible to obtain. Click on the link below!!!!

Once you have the black and white cow horse, (as it's known) you will be able to tame a zebra. Which is the last horse, on the far bottom left.

How to catch a zebra: You will need to be riding this cow horse, while giving the zebra an apple. Having a rope also might come in handy.
How to breed a zorse (also above): Any horse + Zebra = Zorse
The Zorse is the main part of creating any special horse.
How to breed a Nightmare: Simply give an essence of fire to a Zorse
How to breed a Unicorn: Create a Nightmare, then give him an essence of light
How to breed a Bat Horse: Give an essence of darkness to a Zorse
How to breed a Pegasus: Create a Bat Horse. Now fly it above cloud level, and give it the essence of light as you hop off the horse. *PLEASE BE CAREFUL! If you are in you may fall to your death, if you don't create a platform of some sort up high* You can also attempt to fall in water.
How to breed a Skeleton Horse: Simply give an essence of the Undead to a Zorse.
How to breed a Fairy horse: You will need a unicorn and a Pegasus. Separate them from any horses, then give them both an essence of light. Both the parent horses will disappear, and a fairy horse will be present, after a while.
