Start with the Blocks you wish to use:

This is an important step because you don't want to go halfway through the build only to realize that the blocks you chose don't work with each other. Brick and Sandstone work well with each other if you are building an older structure. Try to stay away from netherrack, ore blocks(diamond, gold, etc.) and logs. Wool, iron, and stone make good blocks for skyscrapers because they have a more modern look to them. I'd choose at least 3 to 4 different blocks to use to add variety to the building. Try to choose 2 or 3 types of wool(and of course glass) and maybe stone or stone slab. After that we can build a base.

Creating a Base:

Now its time to choose the shape of the building. Be as creative as you want here because a modern skyscraper has lots of irregularities. Try not to build a square base because it isn't creative and looks dull if not use correctly.

Use Multiple colors for the base and plan out where the windows will go. the more windows the better, but don't overdo it. Next comes the glass and building portion.

Building Up:

Now you want to build up the walls and windows as high as you want one floor to be. Between 3 and 6 windows per floor is best. anything less makes your rooms much too small because the ceiling will only be 3 tall.

I chose to use 4 windows on my skyscraper. Like I said before, the more windows, the better.

Using Color:

The next part of the build is to add color to your building. Try not to use bright colors like pink, purple, and yellow because it wouldn't look realistic. Add color above the windows, but keep the walls the same color.

I used a dark green for my color above the window, but you can use any color you wish for that part. I kept the walls the same color.

Add Dimension to your build:

Adding detail to the skyscraper is a key part of your build. Its what makes or breaks a skyscraper. Try adding balconies and ledges for a more textured look. Pillars are also a nice addition.

I added black ledges to the front and then pillars all the way up in the back and sides. I also added balconies. For the black ledges, I made the middle one extend further than the rest to add more detail to it.

Finishing the Skyscraper:

Copy the design you have just created all the way up for a simpler and easier skyscraper. you could also make variations as you go along to make it more creative. If you have world edit, that would make your job so much easier because it will do the copying for you. You can stop at the desired height, and then add a roof. Maybe put air vents on the roof to make a more believable skyscraper. And then you are done with your build. I hope that this has helped you in some way. Message me your builds afterwards so I can see what you have done.

Nice skyscraper, however if I were you I would follow the green through over on the top of the building so it doesn't have it that flat look or mabye bring the black up just so the arieal view is much less flat and grey however theres nothing else wrong with it, except for the interior, can you touch up on how to do that mabye? Because flat floors dont look that good :p or empty space, good work though, sub.
can you teach me how to make a business building on xbox 360
