So a lot of big maps you'll download seem to run just fine in video showcases, but when you try to open the world, you get a consistent 5 or less FPS.
Today I'm going to show you a few ways to make less laggy worlds in Minecraft.

Idea 1:
So we all know Java edition is very unoptimized compared to Bedrock, that's nothing new. So if you have Bedrock, you may want to build on there instead, as it's more optimized, and also allows mobile or console users to play your world.

Idea 2:
If you're using a texture pack, make lower resolutions available. A large amount of people don't have strong enough devices to run 4000 by 4000 city maps with a 512x texture pack at a good frame rate.

Idea 3:
Don't use item frames or paintings as much. Why? Paintings and item frames are entities, not blocks. This is why you can place them in the same block as a torch, for example. Player heads make a more realistic computer or pile of books, anyway.

Idea 4:
Keep your mobs for the zoo. What I mean by this is don't spawn fish in lakes or villagers to act as citizens, it's going to cause lag and take up space. Instead, include a zoo if you need to see a little baby turtle that badly.

And last but not least, idea 5:
Recommend OptiFine, Sodium, or just a performance-improving mod in general. This allows a bit more room for those lovely little paintings to decorate your houses, or those valuable item frames to show off your maps.

Thanks for reading, assuming you made it all the way down here!
