How to Build: Sky Islands
Hello there ladies and gentlemen I am LavaWolf108 and today, I am going to (try) to teach you how to create sky islands. Sky islands are some of my favorite things to create in minecraft so let's begin!

Just as a side note in order to follow this tutorial you must have world edit!

Step 1:
To begin we will create a random shape on the ground and then fill it with the block you want to use as the bottom of the sky island, stone, sandstone, and other blocks ar eusually used here.
To fill this area faster you can use the fill command like so:
//fill (area) (block)

Step 2:
The next step is to create some 'mountains' of sand using the brush:
//br sphere (sand or gravel) (size)
you should also do: //mask air   : so that when using the brush it doesn't destroy any blocks!
If your island is large I would reccomend using a larger sphere at the bottom and slowly make it smaller the higher you go.
Tip: Most sky islands do not have many spikes on them, I would reccomedn doing only 1-3 of them depending on how big the island is you can do more!

When you get to the top of the peaks make it even more thin!
 

Step 3:
The next step is probably the most easy, just change the sand to stone!
Make a region with all the sand in it and then use the following command:
//replace (sand or gravel) (bottom sky island block)

Step 4:
The next step is slightly less simple, you are going to want to create the same region only this time you need to fly above or stand at a place on your 'mountains' and use this command: //copy
This command will copy the 'mountains' to where you are standing, next use this command: //flip up
This will flip your clipboard upside down, whereever you were standing is now above you.
You will want to then paste this thing somewhere else with: //paste

Step 5:
The next step is to just detail the island however you want!
Add ores, types of stone, all of the things that you would see underground.

Step 6:
This step is to add 1-4 layers of grass above the island.
Next you can sprinkle around some dirt underneath the grass layers just randomly.
(you may notice that I also deleted the ground under the island, I would reccomend that because most sky isles are... in the sky)

Step 7:
The next and final step is to detail the top of the island.
You can build houses, do terraforming, create lakes and waterfalls, all that awesome stuff, just be creative!

I'll add a small pond

Of course we need some greenery!

And why not add a nice tree
