Hello Fellow Members of PMC :)
Today I'm bringing you a tutorial, and this tutorial is on wolves, and how to properly look after them. Wolves need loving and care, so I'm going to be explaining on tips and tricks to keep your wolf alive, and how to care and love for it. Lets get started!

Feed it occasionally:
Wolves are like us, they need food too. Some people don't understand, and it eventually died. So give it food! It doesn't matter if it is raw or cooked, it will still heal your dog.
You can tell how hungry a wolf is by its tail, if its up high, it means that it doesn't need food. If it is hanging down low, It's best you giving something to munch on, because it's feeling a little hungry!

Give it exercise, and let it do things with you:
Please guys, don't be one of those of those annoying people who just leave their wolf in the home all day, just sitting there. Seriously! What monsters are you? When you go out, let it come with you, but DO NOT take it if you are going mining down at around bedrock level, wolves are clumsy, and can fall in lava. It's not pretty... trust me. If you are going to collect wood, or... exploring let it come with you! If you get to far ahead don't worry, they have the ability to teleport, they wont teleport if they are sitting. Keep that in mind.
At times, I like to go down to the river and swim around with my dog, it gives a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.

Give it shelter:
Dont be one of those people who live in a little crappy shack, or in a little excavated area underground. Please guys, NO. Give it the home it wants, the home is NEEDS.
I like to build a nice modern house, or villa of types. I like to make a room for my wolf. With its own bed, play area, food, water, etc.
Don't use a dog just for backup, use it for love, and to have a friend with you.

Have a few wolves:
The best thing a wolf can have is friends that actually can play and communicate with them. Also you can breed dogs with raw beef, it is so cute having a little baby around the house, as well as watching it grow up :)

Name them, and colour code them:
If you have a few, colour them different colours, like maybe give a boy something more bluish, or green, or red, and a girl maybe purple or pink, just so you can tell them apart, and just makes life easier. Also if you find a name tag in a dungeon or something, name them! Come up with something cute like "cuddles" and "fluffy" or anything in the world you can think of!

When your dog dies:
NEVER, EVER let your dogs death go in vein. Show that you loved for it and cared for it. When my first dog died, I built a whole STATUE of him, I was so upset. I didn't care that he was virtual, I loved him with all my heart (damn I'm crying now :( )
If a statue is too much of a challenge, perhaps keep it simple, and build a nice, pretty, grave with flowers all around it ;)
its tough when your wolf dies. But eventually we overcome these incidents.

I made a whole field for my dogs to play in.
that's cool :D
This helped so much!
thank you :)
I love my dogs just as much. Once one of my dogs named Iron was blown up by a creeper, and I was devastated. I made a tombstone out of Diorite and gravel, and placed a red flower in front of it. But as my other dogs and I were mourning Iron's death, another creeper came and blew up my new puppy, Silver. I know they were virtual, but there are no words to describe the loss I felt that day, and it warms my heart to know that there are other people who feel the same way about pets, even if they are virtual. Thank you.
awww that's so sad :( I really appreciate this comment, thank you
Greatest post shows everything you would need!

:( so sorry for your loss man, I don't let my wolves die in vain. The only way that they have died is either of old age or of saving their master (who has half a heart left) from 80 zombies.
You can breed wolves with rotten flesh too. If you have a mob grinder that would help tremendously with keeping your dogs fed. Especially if you have a lot.

Agreed. Usually the first wolf I ever get I'll keep in my house and try to keep safe. The other wolves I use I could care less about.

That's because you're emotionally detached from the game.
Personally, I find it hard to emotionally detach myself from anything.

Wait, so he's being rude just because he called a wolf (a little part of Minecraft) stupid, which I believe he meant because their AI is stupid. May I please ask how that offended you?

nice.
Awesome blog dude!
The first wolf in minecraft I ever tamed was a sad story. I tamed it, it was on Xbox 360 and I didn't know they teleported if standing up, so I put it in a fenced house, and it roamed the little house and fence. I didn't take the dog with me because I was going monster hunting, and I didn't want to take the chance of it dying. I had a stone sword, and I walked around the little village. I heard hissing, and there is a creeper in front of me, and behind me. They are about to explode, when my dog teleported right in the middle of it. The creepers explode, I took one heart of damage, but the creepers killed the dog. I built him a grave right in the exact spot he died at. I added flowers to it too, and went to it every Minecraft day. There was a cow that lived next to the grave, lol, but, it is actually pretty sad........

Nice blog, though I probably wouldn't go to the extent of making a whole room or statue devoted to the wolf. I would put the wolf in my bedroom and dig him a nice stone grave with a flower or two, but I wouldn't go to THAT extent.

One time in survival mode, it was my fifth day, and I had about eleven bones. I saw a lone wolf hunting in a forest. I hate minecraft sheep, and then I remember that wolves kill them. So I tamed him, colored his color blue, and named him sparky. A couple days later, about four, I left him at home, but forgot to command him to sit. I came back from a mine at night, fighting mobs, then, some zombie had me cornered, and I was about to die. the sun was coming up, but the zombie would still burn me. Then my wolf teleported right in front of me, killed the zombie, but started burning. I could tell that he was going to die anyways, and I didn't want him to suffer. So I killed him. It was so sad. I made a huge statue with the stone I mined, even though I was going to use it for the outer frame of my mansion. I surrounded it with poppy's, dandelions, and a couple of other flowers I forgot the names of. I'm not good with names. It was very sad. I cried.

I like to push a sheep into the nether, find a little overhang above lava, place a fence, attach sheep to fence with a lead, and dig out the overhang. So then I have a sheep hanging over lava from the nether, surrounded by ghast >:D

the tail actually represents health, and food heals it. But Its best to feed it occasionally, just to be safe.
