Step 1: Exit your world.

Step 2: Exit Minecraft.

Step 3: Re-open Minecraft and switch from whatever version you're playing to Minecraft 1.1 in the launcher.

Step 4: Click on your world, then click "Rename".  

IMPORTANT: ENTERING YOUR WORLD IN 1.1 MAY SCREW UP YOUR WORLD DEPENDING ON THE VERSION YOU ARE PLAYING ON!

Step 5: Delete the letters in your world's name, then copy and paste this in the renaming section: §

Step 6: Type in a number from 0-9 for the color of the letters in your will-be-renamed world. (0=black, 1=dark blue, 2=green, 3=light blue, 4=red, 5=magenta, 6=gold, 7=light gray, 8=gray, and 9=blue). Or,instead,you can do lowercase letters from a-f. (a=lime green, b= light blue, c=bright red, d=pink, e=yellow, and f is white)


Step 7: Exit Minecraft again.

Step 8: Open Minecraft and switch back to the version you were playing on.

Step 9: Enjoy!

Honestly, I think that f is pointless, since the letters in the world's name are already white!
