Hello, and welcome to my blog!
These are the steps to getting respect on Minecraft servers.
DISCLAIMER:
I am not responsible for any username that you don't like because of this. This is my opinion, follow these steps if you want, don't if you don't want to.
FOR USERNAMES:
Step 1: Keep it Short
Once you start playing on a server more and more oftern, people will call you by a nickname(ex. i'm Mugtuf421, people call me Mug) , so you want to keep your username short, not like xXswagyolo1234Xx. Since there are many medium to long usernames out there, you can also see your name easier if someone is talking to you. I'd recommend around 5 letters, and letters only.
Step 2: No Birthdays!
I have seen too many usernames that are 'cooldude12252004' (i think that's an exact match, actually) and they are always treated differently, because as you can see, they're 9 years old. This goes with the 'no long usernames' part as well, because cooldude12252004 is REALLY long.
Step 3: No Pets!
I have also seen too many 'puppylover05' s out there as well. People won't take you seriously, because (not hating on their usernames) but they're pretty nooby. I don't like my username, because I just typed on my keyboard and that's what it came up with. /).<
Step 4: **IMPORTANT** ABSOLUTELY NO 'X'S!
No one likes usernames like XxXBAWSEXxX. If your username has x's in it (ONLY ON THE ENDS, NOT IN THE ACTUAL NAME), that means it's not original. You, again, won't get respect on the server.
Step 5: Make SURE this is what you want!
Ask yourself: "In a year, will I still want this username?" If the answer is no, then pick another.
ON THE SERVER:
Step 1: Learn Grammar and Spelling!
I know this sounds crazy, but I've found on the freebuild server I go on, that people who can spell, know the difference between their and there (not many, actually) and dont tok like thiz are people who get respected. This can come in handy when applying for moderator or administrator as well.
Step 2: Don't be a noob...
Do not, under any circumstances:
If there's a new player, help them out. Invite them to build with you, join your faction, whatever. Again, if the admins see this, you'll probably have a better chance at moderator than the next guy.
So:
Now that we'll most likely be able to change our usernames soon, remember to keep it short, no numbers, don't have 'lover' in it at all, and no x's.
Also:
Be nice, don't be a noob, and learn grammar and spelling.
Hope this helps on your way to being respected!

Do not, under any circumstances:
- Ask for op or any position
- Ask for items
- Skip reading the rules
- Grief on a no griefing server
- Spam the chat with skin competition ads
- Spam the chat at all, in that case
- Repeatedly ask staff to help you. Asking once is fine.
- Do any other nooby stuff I forgot to mention.
If there's a new player, help them out. Invite them to build with you, join your faction, whatever. Again, if the admins see this, you'll probably have a better chance at moderator than the next guy.
