Hello minecrafters here is a tutorial on how to make your own minecraft version. First off don't get this mixed up with a custom launcher (what you click to launch or open minecraft). a version is the UPDATE you play. for ex 1.7.10is a version

ANYWAY
first go to this link http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven/net/minecraftforge/forge/index_1.7.10.html hit show all downloads and run the in installer it will install forge. Then go to run and type %appdata% which will ring you to roaming. click .minecraft find versions and click forge whatever forge version lets say 1.0.13.1291 find the .jar change the name to whatever the versions name will be then click the jar txt do the same. then open the txt and find the part that says "id": "1.7.10-Forge10.13.2.1291", change the 1.7.10-Forge10.13.2.1291 to the same name of the jar.< and jar txt name. install any mods. for that I suggest skydaz worlds and installers you will know if you hve the right website but here is a link https://www.skydaz.com/ enjoy

I turned my Minecraft launcher into a modpack like setup, so I would never have to change mod versions, controls, etc. Again, but this is a very interesting idea...
