Made for TheEnchantedBook's "1...2...3...4! Tutorial Blog Contest!"

As the contest states, this tutorial will consist of only 4 parts, while hopefully making it somewhat easy to follow!

Requirements: Basic computor knowledge; Java 8 or higher.

--- ---

1: Setting up your server!
To start, download Fabric from here. I would usually use the EXE file for Windows, and use the JAR file for MacOS and Linux. Once you have executed the file, click on the "Server" tab, then put the path you want to make your server in the installation text box. (Example: C:\Minecraft Server) Once done, check the box that says something along the lines of "Create Startup Script". This will make it easier to launch your server! Then you can click the button at the very bottom to generate your server.
Don't touch any other boxes, as it might reduce compatibility or downgrade the version from Minecraft 1.16.

Next, you need to download the latest PaperMC version, for adding plugins like WorldEdit and Essentials/EssentialsX from here. Place it in the folder the server is in.

2: Configuring your server!
Now that we have all the needed software installed, let's get to configuration!
The first thing you should do is run your server. To do this, open the 'start.bat' file (or start.sh on MacOS and Linux). A command prompt window will open. Just wait until the new window says that starting thr server failed, and then close the new window.
Then open 'eula.txt' on your preferred text editor (Notepad is fine on Windows, same with TextEdit or Sublime Text on MacOS or Vim on Linux.) Then go to the area where it says 'eula=false' and replace 'false' with 'true'. For any more customization, go into 'server.properties' in your preferred text editor. I won't go into too much detail about that file, because there are too many options for me to talk about without this getting much too long.

3. Starting your server!
It's finally time to start your server!
To start, open 'start.bat', and now the window will open up again. Wait until it stops spewing out messages at light speed, and then your server is up and running!
In the new window, called the console, is where you have full control over your server. To give yourself Admin on your server, type 'op <Your Java Edition username, without the triangle brackets>', and then press [Enter]. You now have OP or Admin on your server!
Now, the only thing the console accepts is Minecraft commands, like /give, /kill, /weather, etc, so any vanilla commands you know will work here!
Now you're free to do whatever your want on your server! But wait; there's more!

4. Installing plugins!
Having a server is great and all, but what about having things like Worldedit and Essentials? Go to spigotmc.org/resources and find a plugin you like! Make sure it's compatable for 1.16.5 by checking the description!
Once you've downloaded the plugins you want, drag 'n drop them into the 'plugins' folder in your server. Then, if your server's on, restart it by saying 'stop' into the console, then once the server's stopped, execute the server starting script and wait until it's back up, and voila!

You now have a fully setup server.

Connect to it by going to '127.0.0.1:25565' in Direct Connect on the Multiplayer screen.
