Welcome!

In this "tutorial" I want to show You how to easily solve never-ending problem of prices for many plugins allowing players to buy items.

We will use mine Minecraft Economy Manager.
Before You proceed, make sure You have MS Excel 2007, OpenOffice 3.4.1 or LibreOffice 4.0 (or newer). If You don`t, please send me an e-mail with info about it, address can be found in the sheet, or post it on Facebook. Maybe we will come with a solution how to create new version. At the moment I have no idea which other program can I use to do it.

So, now we can begin:

Step 1: Download MEM.

Download link - MS Office
Download link - OpenOffice
Download link - Libre Office

Overall description:
As You can see, spreadsheet contains 2 sheets, "Sheet" and "Proposition".
If You want to invent prices Yourself, we will use "Sheet". If You don`t have time, invention or willingness to do this, check our "Proposition". I will describe both of them below.

Step 2a: I will begin with "Proposition", because it`s shorter and easier work. "Sheet" below.
95% of Your work is already done. Now You only have to check few things. Every server have individual availability of individual items e.g. wood - if most of Your map is desert, it should be higher than if most of Your map is forest. Even individual types of wood - oak, birch and especially pine - should have various (in respect of availability) prices. You should check almost every item, because MEM is prepared to decide which type of wood or furnace fuel will be most commonly used. Also check if on Your server, any item colored with Red is obtainable. If yes, You`ll have to invent it`s price. When You check the prices and approve them, pass over "Sheet" part below and read Step 3 now, please.

Step 2b: Now the harder way - "Sheet" description:
Take a quick look on whole spreadsheet. All items are divided to 3 groups.
Green items:
They are foundation of all calculations. Most of them are components in crafting or smelting Yellow items. This is Your job - invent basic prices. Like I wrote I didn`t include ores obtainable with Silk Touch enchantment to this group, because ores obtained this way are more expensive to smelt, so every intelligent player won`t use them this way
Yellow items:
This was our job. With every Green item added You`ll see more and more Yellow items prices ready. The point is, that those prices contains cost of production, like components, fuel for smelt etc. and taxes, explained below.
Red items:
Those items are unobtainable for players in standard conditions, however I added them in case of You decide to allow players to obtain them, so You could keep prices in one place

How to invent green prices.
Everyone have their own method. I, for example, found somewhere in the Internet, that because Coal can be found in XX layers, and it`s taking XX% of this volume and at the end of the calculations, that it should cost 8$. Then I was thinking "If Coal costs 8$ the XXXXX should cost about XX$". This is just an example. Try to invent prices in most comfortable, for You, way. But for a little help, keep in mind that price should vary in respect of: item availability (mostly), item usefulness, time and level of tool needed to obtain it. You can type prices for more than 1 item of Green items type. Also You can check Production Cost and Sell Price e.g. for whole stack - it has no matter for other prices. Every Yellow item cell has a comment which contain components which this item depend on. It`s a lot of thinking, but believe me, as You go further it gets easier. My last proposition - try in the beginning invent prices of Coal, Wood, Cobblestone and Iron Ore, because they are the main resources and good base for further prices.
Then, You`ll have to choose which type of wood will be most commonly used. This price will be used to calculate production cost of items which can be crafted with any type of planks. Usually, it will depend on size of each type of biome on Your map. If most of Your map is Forest biome, think about choosing Oak, if Taiga, try Spruce and so on. You also have to choose basic fuel. Almost always it`s Coal, but I thought it may prove itself useful. Just type ID and proceed.

Step 3: We can proceed to Taxes.
You`ll find them in "Variables" table. Numbers inside, are percents added to production cost, when Sheet calculates Sell Price. Production Cost is 100% base for Sell Price, but You can add e.g. 5% margin for seller. Then Sell Price will will be equal to 105% Production Cost. If You still don`t understand, have some fun typing random numbers in those cells. I`m quite sure, that You`ll quickly get it. I`ve added 3 types of taxes.
First one is created for servers using plugins allowing players to trade with server (like DynamicMarket). Production Cost would then be amount of money which player will get when it`s SELLING items to server. Sell Price would be amount of money player will have to pay for BOUGHT item.
If You`re using plugins allowing players to trade with themselves (like ChestShop), You can also use 2nd and 3rd option.
Collector tax is size of spread between Production Cost and Sell Price for Green Items. Crafter tax is working same way, but for Yellow Items. I`m afraid that I had no idea, why should I create Red items tax, feel free to add it to those items Yourself. If You don`t find it useful at all, leave it with "0" value, and overwrite Sell Prices with in Your own way, but remember, that You can`t get the formulas back then (if out of ctrl+z range).

Step 4: Copy prices to Your plugin & have fun because it`s finished!

A Google Docs version would be cool as well, as it's easier to work together with other people on Google Docs.

So ill get right to the point, the 1.14 version was released, but i was already working on the 1.13.2 version of the sheet. Is there a way to combine the two sheets, without breaking the formulas?
