OK, there are people on servers who play for 1 year and no one even knows they PLAY on the server, or much less want to be admins. So, if u are one of those people, please read the rest of this.

Step 1: Go on a server you like. This best works if u have not many people at one time on.

Step 2: Talk to the owner. If the server has shout and you can't use it, try donating for a higher rank so you can use it.

Step 3: When you talk to the owner, use phrases like, "You ROCK!" and "You are the best and nicest owner EVER!!!!!!!!!" even if you really don't think that.

Step 4: Try to help people. Because you are not an admin, this may be hard for 2 reasons, because they might not want a non-admin to help them, and because you might not be able to help. (Ex. If someone needs help destroying bedrock, yet u have no creative) Helping, even if you can't, will be very helpful to the staff.

Step 5: Once you do these things, it should come pretty quickly. To help your chances, though, you shouldn't ask for ranks. No owner, or staff member, likes this, even as nice as they seems.

Go on your server and do this NOW!!!!!!!

Saying things like "You ROCK!" and "You are the best and nicest owner EVER!!!!!!!!!" to an owner will do one of two things:

1. Make the owner suspicious of your motives behind saying something like that, or;
2. Let the owner know you like him/her.

Besides, most servers worth being staff on have competent owners who wouldn't fall for the classic drown-in-compliments scheme, and look for qualified people for staff, not people who love (or pretend to love) the server.

step three should be IF they have an application for staff fill it out after a few days or weeks of playing.
and make sure you don't make a stupid application make a detailed one saying exactly everything with good grammar and sentences.

Well, you had them all about right except Step 3. When you do the "YOU ROCK" phrase repeatedly you really tick them off. When you see Mods or Jr. Mods, they act like the Owner is another player. Plus the Owner just wants respect not attention because that is why they keep a server intact.
