In this video I will show you how to install the new Minecraft 1.14 textures for any version of Minecraft.
Instructions:
- Go to: Home Folder, Library, Application Support, minecraft, versions, latest snapshot.jar file
- Move these folders to your Desktop:
Make a new folder called “assets” and then a folder named “minecraft”
- Add the assets, minecraft, blockstates, models, texts, textures folders to the “minecraft” folder
- Compress the assets, pack.png, pack.mcmeta folders and rename the “archive.zip”
- Move the renamed .zip file into your minecraft resourcepacks folder via Home Folder, Library, Application Support, minecraft, resourcepacks
- Open Minecraft select your Minecraft 1.14 pack and play :)

I'm not sure what you mean about the snapshots and dragging the file, sorry...
what are the benefits of the 1.14 textures? Do they look better somehow than v1.12?
I like to use custom packs like S&K anyway, so might not even see a difference
what are your reasons for playing earlier versions?
I play 1.7.10 because it works with Tekkit Legends but I'm going to try IC2 with v1.13
