simple guide to doing this

texture packs:

click start

click search

type "%appdata%

click .minecraft

open texture pack folder

download said texture pack

go into download section

copy texture pack folder

paste folder in texture pack folder

mods:

(you will need winrar or 7zip,i prefer winrar)

open .minecraft folder exactly how you did with the texture packs

click bin

press minecraft jar file CLICK WITH THE RIGHT CLICK BUTTON ON MOUSE

go to open with...

click winrar

DELETE META-INF FOLDER!!!

now open mod folder using winrar

copy everything in the mod folder

paste it into minecraft.jar folder

there you go!

i hoped with worked,and with mods minecraft must not be up while doing everything.
