This is the first tutorial of mine, a how to.

In this tutorial, I will be teaching you how to load a mod into your Minecraft survival worlds.

There's 2 routes of doing this.

1. The easy way.

2. The (little bit) harder way.

The Easy Way:

Step 1: Download the virus-free Magic Minecraft Launcher here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/939149-launcher-magic-launcher-098-mods-options-news/ (Select your computer; Mac, PC, Windows, etc)

Step 2: Download the (once again) virus-free WinRAR program here: http://winrar.soft32.com/free-download?gclid=CI2CnZvEgbECFWvDtgod3ATbKg (I recommend the new update version, 4.20)

Step 3: Set up WinRAR using the setup program included in the download.

Step 4: Go into the folder you download the Magic Launcher into, and right click the .ZIP folder.

Step 5: When you right clicked the folder, you want to click 3rd one from the top, also known as: 'Extract to MagicLauncher_0.9.8.rar.' (Without the 's)

Step 6: Once the file is unzipped, double click it, and allow it to run.

Step 7: Click 'Setup' in the bottom right corner, next to the 'Login' button.

Step 8: Click 'Add,' then find the mod you want to install.

Step 9: Click the mod, and click 'Open.'

Step 10: Click 'Test' to test your newly installed mods!

The Harder Way (Windows):

Step 1: Click the Windows icon on the bottom left of your screen.

Step 2: Type in the little hotbar in the bottom: %appdata%

Step 3: Double click the '.minecraft' folder. (Without the 's)

Step 4: Double click the 'bin' folder.

Step 5: Right click the 'minecraft' JAR File.

Step 6: Once you right clicked it, click 'Open With.'

Step 7: Select the 'WinRAR Archiver' for your device you want to decode the file with.

Step 8: Do the same with the mod you downloaded. (Steps 5-7, change Step 5 to the corresponding mod)

Step 9: Copy ALL of the files from the mod into the minecraft JAR File.

Step 10: Make sure you delete Meta-INF in the minecraft JAR File. If you don't these mods will not work!

Step 11: Save the files in the .minecraft folder.

Step 12: Test out your new mod!
