Hey PMC in the past I have made a "how to make a server" but it was for hamachi. so for this tutorial I will be showing how to Port forwarded bukkit server. Now some of the things you need to know before you can do any of this is, Know what type of router you have, Know the router password, Know what your router IP is. Port forwarding differs on what router you have, so in this tutorial I will tell you the directions for each one that can be port forwarded ON WINDOWS.
Don't see your router on the options?, post the type it is in the comments and I'll add directions for it.
Setting Up the server
Step 1: Download Craftbukkit
Step 2: Make a folder on your desktop, and place craftbukkit in it
Step 3: Rename Craftbukkit file to so it is just "craftbukkit"
Step 4: Now you will need a starter, their are two ways to get one. Option 1: Make a new text file in the folder and type in exactly this:
java -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar -o true
PAUSE
Then save it a Starter.bat
Option 2:(This option is not recomended) Go to https://minecraft.net/download and click Minecraft_Server.exe
Step 5: Run the starter, it should make a bunch of files in your folder
Getting Plugins
Getting plugins is very easy.
Step 1: Google the plugin you want then type bukkit after it EX: Essentials bukkit
Step 2: Download the plugin.
Step 3: drag the .jar file into your "plugins" folder in your server folder
Step 4: Run the server and the plugin will install.
Port Forwarding
Their are many different types of routers, all of them require different ways to port forward. Don't see your router on the options?, post the type it is in the comments and I'll add directions for it.

In the box type 'ipconfig' without the ' Under the first category, look for your default gateway number. Copy down that number, and open your preferred web browser. Type the default gateway number in the url search bar. Depending on the router you have it might ask you for a username or password first before taking you to your homepage. If it did enter the username and password, and you will be at the homepage, which it should say what router it is.
