Hey guys, so YOU want to make a server? Then you have come to the right place!
KK heres what ya do, make a server folder and name it whatever you want,
Ok to make a vanilla server you download the software from here, to port forward theres 2 ways, I will list both of them.
Method 1: Find the command prompt, type in ipconfig, look for default gateway, once you find the default gateway search it (do NOT google it) then it will take you to your router setup page,then there should be something like portforward/port trigger(Linksys), virtual servers(Belkin), etc, type in your IPV4 Address in the port forward page and make the port whatever you want. save as TCP&UDP and click enable and your done port forwarding!

Method 2. Go to portforward.com and search for your router, click it, and look for Minecraft Server, and it will port forward for you, BEFORE YOU PORTFORWARD YOU GO HERE to see if you have open ports then your done with the vanilla server!

Alrightie time to learn how to make a bukkit server!
1.Ok you have to make a folder,
2.download the software from bukkit.org
3. Drag the craftbukkit to the folder, and rename it just craftbukkit
4.Make a new text document and copy and paste this (Java 6 Code)
@ECHO OFF SET BINDIR=%~dp0 CD /D "%BINDIR%" "%ProgramFiles%Javajre6binjava.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar PAUSEHere is the Java 7 code
@ECHO OFF SET BINDIR=%~dp0 CD /D "%BINDIR%" "%ProgramFiles%Javajre7binjava.exe" -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar craftbukkit.jar PAUSE
then you click save as and save it as Run.bat. Alrighty guys! To port forward,
you must port forward with method 1 which is at the top. So this is the end of the
tutorial!I hope you guys think it was helpful!
