Hello, I'm kirbyquerby and I'm going to show you how to make a texture pack. First,go to download at the bottom of the page and get one that matches your minecraft version/what resolution you want the pack to be. Next, you look inside it. It contains everything you need to create your own texture pack (make sure you extract all of the files).

If you open terrain.png, it will show you most of the minecraft blocks. The other png files located in this zip file have the other various textures that make up minecraft, like rain.png and items.png.

Now, I will tell you how to edit the png files to make your own texture!! First, copy the png you want to change and paste it into another location. Next, rename the file from "example.png" to "example.derpasdf" (without the quotation marks, of course). Then, open the file, and when it asks you what program you want to use to view the file, use paint, paint.net, or a similar program. It will then open the texture png in your program. You can now edit it to your heart's content.

While editing the textures, make sure you don't change the names of the png files, otherwise the texture pack will not work. The names are necessary for minecraft to recognize what to change.

When you are done editing the texture, save your changes. After you save the changes, rename the file back from "example.derpasdf" to "example.png" (again, without the quotation marks). Finally, copy the file and go back to the texturemaker.zip file. Paste it where you found it, and choose copy and replace (or whatever it says, but replace). Now you have edited the texture pack. To use your new texture pack, rename the .zip file texture-maker to "whateveryyouwant.zip" (DON'T USE THE QUOTES lol). Now you can use the texture pack and it will have your custom name!

Notes:

When I say example.png and example.derpasdf I mean example being whatever the png file's name is (like if it is terrain.png rename it to terrain.derpasdf).

When I say whateveryouwant.zip whateveryouwant is the name you want your pack to be

All the items and blocks have a separate .png picture file. To edit these, all you need to do is first download whatever texture pack you want to edit, open up a file that saids 'Textures' then 'Items'. All of the items will be in this file, just open it with GIMP, Paint, Photoshop or whatever to edit it.

Do NOT use MS Paint. It doesn't support transparency!
